7.Power of Rock 'n' Roll by: Frank Marino

Music : Power of Rock 'n' Roll
This album has got to be one of the best examples of fast unrepetative guitar playing ever. Frank's playing just leaves you breathless, especially with the album's culmination with "Ain't Dead Yet"it just goes into orbit. Sure he must have been an influence to the likes of Vai,Roth and Satriani etc but the difference with Frank is he can write great lyrics too. Dismiss the boring Hendrix copyist jibes, listen to this because it really does scorch the earth. Frank hated the cover but personally I think its great. Even Frank today admits that he had to go back and listen to it himself because so many of his fans list it as their favourite. I must admit it could do with re-mastering properly(its over 25 years old now)

Music : Real Live
In my opinion Frank Marino is at his best live, and this is his best 'live' cd.There are long, and I mean LONG, stretches of blistering, beautiful, fierce and uplifting guitar work.Although there may appear to be quite a number of tracks on each of the two cds, many run into each other seamlessly and produce long guitar excursions that just leave you stunned.'He's Calling' and 'Poppy' are worth the price on their own and there's tons more. If you have never heard this guy or have been put off by the rather silly 'reincarnation of Hendrix' stories from over 35 years ago, then you are in for a treat. Yes there is an obvious Hendrix influence in some of his work, but there is so much more. This guy is brilliant and I hope he is one day going to ... Read More:
