As a Goldfrapp fan, they were the only reason I bought this CD. Having seen the film also it is fair to say that this CD makes beautiful background listening for a hot summer evening, a setting well established in the film. The stock tunes are well chosen such as Julie London, Edith Piaf as well as the classical pieces blending in well. The album as a whole has a very warm, romantic feel to it. But the album may only appeal to those who are not already familiar with the chosen songs.
This brings me onto the Goldfrapp score. Their music is used throughout the entirety of the film yet the total running time of original material is not even 6 minutes long. I am aware that the score used is repeated throughout the film, yet it just seems so ... Read More:

The Pilots/Lovely Head single was the fifth and final release off Goldfrapp's stunning multi award-winning debut 'Felt Mountain'.
The single version of 'Pilots', which was renamed as 'Pilots (On A Star)' is absolutely beautiful. Alison's vocals are on top form as usual, very subtle and quiet and even hypnotising, layered on top of a lush, dreamy soundscape of strings and horns. As the song progresses, the vocals get ligher and at the end are taken to angelic heights as they softly fade into the music. The single mix is largley similar to the album version, bar the added sounds and instruments here and there, the faster pace of the song and the faded ending.
The next track is a remix of the album's first single and other A side, 'Lovely ... Read More:

* OUCH!!! Totally PAINFUL!!!!

If you like "Supernature", "Black Cherry", and "Seventh Tree", have "Felt Montain". Obviously it's the weakest out of the 4, though really relaxing and entres you into a total state of calm.

until Goldfrapp i'd never heard anything quite like this! imagine a gorgeous bond girl on acid out for revenge, with music to match, and you might begin to get the idea.... It's rare these days to find this type of drama and mystery in a pop song, and i find myself thinking back [i'm afraid] to the mid eighties when bands weren't afraid to let rip and be something other than pre-packed manufactured goods. I recommend this single wholeheartedly, and the only reason i haven't given it five stars is because i'm reserving those for Utopia, another brilliant track from the Felt Mountain album.

I remember a former university housemate back in 2003 getting really excited about the then impending release of Goldfrapp's second album, Black Cherry. I'd never heard of them, not being a particularly large fan of so-called "chill-out" music... a term that had been used in connection with their first album, Felt Mountain, in almost every single related review. So, it was only after I saw the video for the first single from Black Cherry, Train, that I suddenly became interested in the alluring Ms. Goldfrapp and her musical partner, Will Gregory.

Black Cherry was a great album... managing to juggle the lulled ambience of songs like Deep Honey, Hairy Trees and that beautiful title track, alongside the more abrasive, glam-inspired dance numbers, ... Read More:

Ooh La La, is the first single, because its lyrics arent too complex, and its cheesy. This isnt necessarily bad, but off the new album, it is my least favourite track, and is not truly representational of the whole album.

Fly Me Away, would have been a better choice for a single. The rest of supernature reeks of excellence and glamour!

Still not bad, especially the video.
