Like other Goldfrapp single releases you don't really get what you want: on this release you'll find the video for their previous single, "Twist", and a fantastic remix of same, but only a remix of "Black Cherry" (again, great) and a pretty ordinary live video of "Black Cherry". Apart from the live video the content is great, but you have to hunt down other unrelated single releases if you want all the mixes of a particular song. I understand this is a ploy to buy all the releases, but it actually made me decide on just one, and this is it (apart from, of course, the Mute US maxi of "Strict Machine" - but where's the video on that?!). Given the "Twist" video is fantastic - a similar accomplishment to the wonderfully kaleidoscopic "Strict Machine" ... Read More:

until Goldfrapp i'd never heard anything quite like this! imagine a gorgeous bond girl on acid out for revenge, with music to match, and you might begin to get the idea.... It's rare these days to find this type of drama and mystery in a pop song, and i find myself thinking back [i'm afraid] to the mid eighties when bands weren't afraid to let rip and be something other than pre-packed manufactured goods. I recommend this single wholeheartedly, and the only reason i haven't given it five stars is because i'm reserving those for Utopia, another brilliant track from the Felt Mountain album.

Well thank goodness all that "Number 1" pap is well behind us, and the luscious, dirty and fantabulous Goldfrapp have went back to making decent records. Granted, they peaked a couple of years back, but this is still the sexiest record of the year so far. No idea why the dribble that is "Slide In (DFA remix) Edit" was allowed near a pressing plant, but maybe it ties in with the garbage from the "White Horse" video.

This was goldfrapps first album! its very chill out and though samey in tempo is hauntingly fantasic and leaves you wanting more!its very diffrent to most albums you hear and should have been given more credit than it got..if you expect this to be like goldfrapp of the pop charts...well you will be dissapointed because it a very mature sound not a chart one like they now are..
