I lovefinch, thrice and other bands who are said to be similar but I must say I wasn't disapointed with the lyrics or the instruments or anything else but I don't particularly rate the singer's voice! It's a bit too kerrang-like for me. prhaps it's a grower. I'd buy it but maybe for a cheaper price...

HWG are a band that have been known to me for a LONG time now. I think they are one of the best bands bubbling below the surface of the British 'scene' and the music simply sells itself. Its like glassjaw with all the random and harsh parts taken out, like lostprophets without the funk/hip-hop/numetal, and like funeral/finch but not as melancholic. Well good, buy immediately!!!

I first stumbled across this band by pure chance, I was at a friends house and they put on 'It's A Girl Thing.' I immediately fell in love with a cd. This song was the first I heard by the band, and it still remains my favourite. That's not to say that the other songs on this first release aren't also incredible though. For a first record, this is an amazing attempt.
