produced by phil spector need i say anymore love phil spector the wall of sound this album flopped in america but in britain it was successful see britain knows talent when it sees it!! tracks that i love on here are of course river deep mountain high,everyday i have to cry,fool in love,save the last dance for me the whole album is fab too be honest though but there the ones that stand out for me the sound quality isant the best but thats the whole idea to have that old sound it was made in the 60s classic buy it!!

My only gripe with this collection is that most, if not at all of the tracks have been digitally re-mastered from vinyl sources. This is especially noticeable on Disc Two where there is some very unwanted sibilance on the vocals and other give away extraneous noises, and I find it surprising that the compilers seemed unable to source master tapes for the albums represented here. On the plus side, rather than scatter random tracks from disparate sources all over the collection as all too many past compilations have, this anthology has instead collected four complete original consecutive albums from the second half of the sixties. This is clearly a superior arrangement. Disc One has the albums So Fine, from 1968, and Cussin', ... Read More:

This is an antidote to the rather formulaic Tina Turner of the 80's and 90's. The sound of Ike's dirty guitar drives the music along with Tina wailing away - superb soul singing.

If you can get past the past and see Ike Turner for what a great musician he is then I fully recommend this cd. The cd encompasses some great soulful tunes such as "A love like yours" with some pure blues like "Five long years". Ike's vocals are great and his current wife Jeanette features on some tunes aswell as the Ikettes. "I miss you" co written and sung by long time Ikette Audrey Madison is one of the stand out tracks of the album. There is also a great new version of "Sexy Ida" and a very tounge in cheek version of "Fool in love". If you are an old fan of the Ike and Tina days or have just discovered the 'Father Of Rock and Roll' this is for you.
