It is clear that jamiroquai are something of an unusual band. I remember seeing them for the first time on TV in around 1993, (I think it was the show, The Word) performing Too Young To Die, and immediately clocked the retro 70's jazz funk style and as i was and still am a fan of such music, immediately became a fan and went out and bought the single.
The fender rhodes keys, the Stevie Wonder-esque voice, the funky bass and horns, and the sci-fi imagery and lyrics, all came to make a great sound and package, and whats more the first proper British jazz funk since Light of The World, and a great antidote to the Brit pop or electronicky stuff around.
Their first album was a constant visitor to my Cd player.
What was more surprising ... Read More:

if you grew up in the nineties like me you should definatly remember the cat in the hat jay kay with his funky band jamiroquai.
this was the first jamiroquai album i got and is probably there most recognised for there singles virtual insanity, cosmic girl and alright which i seem to remember getting loads of airplay in the nineties, this album is also the best selling funk album ever and if you dont believe me look it up on wikipedia!
personally i found emergancy on planet earth and the return of the space cowboy alot more funky and acid-jazz related than this album which came after but its still a fantastic album and one of my favourate albums from the band.

My all time greatest band Jamiroquai has created a masterpiece in this, their fourth album.

This album seems to stray from the Acid Jazz roots apparent in their previous albums, which angered many fans. I have to say though, there is alot more 'pop' experimentation, but... I love it. In fact the song 'Deeper Underground' was the first song I had heard from this group when I was younger, and now I own every other album. Even after hearing everything else by them this album still holds charm.

When I say experimentation, I mean experimentation. Almost every song is different, Canned heat is very different to Deeper Underground for example. There is alot of dance, pop and still just a pinch of jazz in this album that makes it very versatile and enjoyable ... Read More:

This is by far the best album Jamiroquai have written. It came at a time when Jamiroquai had it's finest line-up of band members inc Jay, Toby, Wallis & Stuart. This album builds on Emergency On Planet Earth's Acid Jazz vibes and takes it to another level. Many of the tracks are very mellow, but in Scam and Just Another Story we hear some real serious, almost angry, funk. This album also includes perhaps the most classic Jamiroquai track: Space Cowboy, available here in it's full album version glory -far more musically interesting than the somewhat more radio friendly version that was released as a single. This album also includes one of the finest performances of the genre on bass guitar by Stuart Zender. If you are a music lover and like good grooves, funk, or any form ... Read More:

ok ive been a fan of jamiroquai since the nineties and own all there albums, the reason i bought this is because some of the tracks are different to the album versions such as space cowboy etc there basically the single versions that you hear on the radio, it also includes a bonus cd with all the dance remixes which is a good listen for people who like dance music, so for all you die-hard jamiroquai fans like me who own all there albums it is still worth buying!
if your new to jamiroquai however then were have you been for the past 16 years!

I'm mainly into prog rock so this is a bit different for me. I bought it after hearing a couple of tracks on the radio, and didn't regret it.....It's utterly fantastic, best CD I've heard in a long time.
Get it.........it's brilliant

This is not a terrible album, but, unless you are a die-hard Jamiroquai fan, I'd buy another of their albums instead. (Or even a different band's album for that matter!)Most of this sounds like lesser quality re-hashed numbers and far too much of it reminds me of 80's disco - and that should be a sound none of us have inflicted on us again! All in all a rather mediocre album which, sadly, doesn't live up to its name.

This EP import is well worth the buy.. having all the variations of Space Cowboy all on one CD... some of them are really rare - a must for any collector. If anyone reading this is a fan of Jamiroquai and has ever seen a copy of their 'Black Capricorn Day' single ( also found on their Synkronized album) in this country please could they e-mail me. It's just I bought a copy of the single in a well known worldwide music store in San Francisco, California at an extortionate eqiv of £14! (I might add though,it was a Japanese import).
