More melodic than Mr A-Z and so the production is slightly different to suit the style and its a fantastic result! A very gifted singer/songwriter, Favourite song is Butterfly; if i had to choose my favourite song's i would struggle so ive narrowed it down to just one. The album such great feel and some great moments such as on Make It Mine in the 2nd verse, the few seconds before it goes into the chorus, the hits on buttefly are fantastic, the subtlety of the percussion on Coyotes starting with the electronic groove and moving to a real drum sound is genius. Theres plenty on here to make you say "this is a great album" Big thumbs up!

If you have JD albums and previous collections there is NO NEED to get this as it contains only PWL singles and non from his last album ALL AROUND THE WORLD/MISSION OF LOVE or any recently recorded material. This is simply a cash in from recent reality TV work.

With crisp, clean, and likeable vocals, handsome good looks, and a quickfire and clever lyrical style you'd be forgiven for thinking that the only reason Jason Mraz is not a megastar is that his music is crap... Right? Wrong. Mr A-Z is an example of a pop artist who likes to play. Play with music, play with genre's, play with listeners, and the games he is playing are very fun indeed. Even the album's title is a nod to his obvious wit which he acknowledges on the song Wordplay ("I'm Mr A-Z and I'm all about the worldplay"). Jason Mraz has rapidly become one of my favourite artists. Every song on this album is great, and yes, there is a difference between Mraz live and what you hear on 'Waiting for my Rocket'. It does have a produced sound, but this wasn't a problem for me. I discovered this sound first and loved it and so went in search of more Mraz to add to my collection. My favourite album is 'Live at Java Joe's', which really showcases Mraz's talents (as well as Toca's!!). 'Tonight, Not Again' is also worth a look, but if you don't like screaming from fans then you may want to give it a miss. 'Waiting for my Rocket' lets Mraz's personality show through but in a more discreet, mainstream version than the other albums. It's a great album filled with upbeat ... Read More:

Becker has lived with ALS for 19 years now and the fact that he's still going strong and producing music is a testament to his unbreakable spirit. Collection has a nice varied mix from Becker's past, mixing his all out wailing shred attacks (Altitudes) to his more somber, mellower moments (Higher). Good stuff which will give people new to Becker's music a good range of songs and get to hear what Becker's all about. The only gripe i have is that i think there could be more tracks included, but hey only a minor thing. The 3 new tracks are fantastic. Becker's wide range of influnces really come out in these pieces and with guitar heavyweights like Vai, Satch, Howe and Friedman lending their talents, it's a blissful combination! This album is one of the finest musicals i have ever had the pleasure to listen to. Although the accompaniment is not a 'full' as most musicals (i.e. doesn't use a full orchestra) its instrumentation is well suited the the tone of the music. I was impressed with the versitality of the writing and the performers on the album are extremely talented, and are able to create different characters with ease for each song. Although, i have not yet been fortunate to see Songs for a New World on stage as yet, I shall look out for tour dates in the UK. I am a huge fan of Jason Robert Brown, and i intend on listening to more of his work in the future. After floating around on youtube for years, this track is finally getting a proper release. If you've ever seen him live, you'll no doubt already know this song, if not, then you should. The perfect song to learn the lyrics for and to sing along loudly in you car :)
