This is the best album I've heard in ages! Being a collection spanning Jimy Somemrville's career, it is a real mixture of old favourites and some less well known tracks. To be played loudly at all times and singing along is a must.

I bought this album on Marketplace because it was going cheap and I loved Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat... little did I know that it was one of the best albums I've ever had. Jam packed with dance floor anthems and political chansons, Jimmy's single collection is a must have. Reading the back of the box and the song list, I must admit that many of the titles weren't immediately familiar but after one session with the CD I realised that I knew every tune. Each one of them is fantastic, whether it be the uplifing YOU ARE MY WORLD, the thought provoking AIN'T NECESSARILY SO or camp classic COMMENT TE DIRE A'DIEU. This album won't disappoint. why is it an artists career goes downhill after the first album..no matter how great the material is? this is a prime example!!! after bronski beat and the communards it was a rapid decline for jimmy..yet the work he has produced is as good if not better! "could this be love" is wonderful and a floorfiller! "under a lovers sky" follows on and is so uplifting! the verses are a bit shirley bassey but the choruses are wonderful! "come on" again is brilliant..very euro-disco..amazing!"its still hurts"..it gets even better!!! its a wonderful song..one of his best! "its so good"..amazing again!"burn"..amazing again! jimmys first solo album after bronski beat and communards is full of hidden gems! the singles "comment a dire adieu" and "you make me feel" put me off buying this album for 20 years.....i liked "read my lips" and the album follows much more in this feel than i thought! if you like bronski beat you will find lots to love...its a huge mix of pet shop boys/erasure/soft cell!!!! from track 4 to the end its full of classic original tracks...great lyrics..well sung..well produced.... the single releases where the death of a fantastic album!!!
