This is one of the better places to go to start listening to the music of Journey. You get a good selection of tracks, which covers their most well known songs and a few others for good measure. The booklet folds out into a poster and the artwork is great. From tracks like 'Don't stop believing' to 'Who's crying now' you know you're on familiar ground and if you like 70's and 80's rock you can't really go wrong. If you want an introduction to this classic rock band then this is the place to go.

It's not as bad as Paul thinks, but he's mostly right the only songs that have any life at all are right at the end and he probably didn't endure the banality to listen that far. 'What it takes to win' & 'turn down the world tonight' have a little more gumption than the rest of this feeble offering and just happen to be the ones where the new singer isn't trying to mimic the old singer. 'The Journey' is an instrumental nod to their 70's incarnation and isn't too bad. As for the positive reviews this has recieved from others, I can only imagine they are desperate for Journey to keep going no matter what banal tripe they push out, listen to some classic albums from journey, this just doesn't make the grade. Each song is catchy and heart-felt, it'll having loving touching AND squeezing, not to mention rocking. It's a total catalogue of all of Journey's greatest moments, its a perfect album to stick on at a party or after some kind of breakup! Its impressive how it goes from song to song without slowing down a notch. Great album!

This is a classic album, arguably the best one that they made. With well crafted songs, and excellent arrangements, this album serves as a great introduction to their distinctive sound. The band combines excellent musicianship with powerful songs, and the result is timeless. This is an album that I will always continue to listen to.

We went to see Journey South at the Spa Centre in Leamington Spa this week and they were fantastic. It was just tragic that they were playing to a half empty theatre - they deserved a full house. We bought their CD after watching them perform and it's brilliant. I love all the tracks and it's the best CD I've bought for a while. Well done boys and a great live performance. If you get the chance to see them you should go - you won't be disappointed.

..... and are better than ever!! Just received my copy sent over from the US and I am totally blown away by new boy Arnel Pineda. I have loved Journey for years & years, I do covers of a couple of their songs in my band ( not up to the standard of Arnel) and Steve Perry will always remain as the voice of Journey. But..... Neil Schon has found a touch of magic with this guy. Ok, close your eyes and you do hear Steve but Arnel has his own touches in there, and I love it!! I was dis-allusioned with the other two before, but this makes me smile.... and smile... and smile... Thank you Neil, thank you Arnel and thank you to youtube for without you, this union may never have happened!

A great album, which has similarities to their previous one Escape, but this takes things a step further especially during the second half, with amazing songs like "Troubled Child" and "Edge of the Blade". There is a slightly experimental aspect to some of these songs, we get to hear different sides to Neal Schons guitar playing and a slightly rawer edge to Steve Perry's vocals. As usual, the whole band seamlessly contributes to each song, and with the excellent song writing and musicianship this helps to make this a good album to listen to again and again.

Boy! this is a good cd, I hold my hands up and say "This is the best Journey cd" if you love melodic rock then get this cd its a masterpiece, I truly feel sorry for people who havent heard the song 'All The Way' and 'Higher Place' rocks like anything, they should be a hits everywhere, the music busness is in a truly sorry state if a cd of this quality can go un-noted, and the record company drop them, absolute madness. ceck out Steve Augery's previous band 'Tall Stories' to.
