If you're like me and have never paid any interest to KD Lang before now and have not heard any of her stuff except 'Constant Craving', then read on. I stumbled upon this album a couple of months after it had been released. As usual, I searched YouTube for any tracks on there to get a first impression and to see if I wanted to investigate further. I also watched a recent interview with KD, interspersed with tracks from Watershed. I heard 'I Dream Of Spring' and really liked it. I thought I'd download the full album and give it a listen. I love it! It is full of delicate acoustic guitars and beautiful strings (but not overbearing), as well as soft percussion. The best thing though, is KD's voice. This is smooth sensual songcraft at its best, and that is why I suggest that the album, with its dark lyrics, is best enjoyed by sharing the musical ecstacy withsomeone else! KD Lang's lush voice washes over you like warm oil! There are lots of strings, and quite a few Eastern influences here and there I thought. One to play again and again ( but not in the car - seriously - it's late night music.

What a great album! Lang obviously knows and appreciates the country-music tradition, but at the same time she doesn't take it too seriously. She has a lot of fun with tunes like "Big Boned Gal" that are both country and poking fun of country at the same time. She has an incredible voice and a great band backing her up. If you are a fan of great singing, make this your first country album!

Whilst I've admired the vocal work of K D Lang for a while, I was only moved to buy one of her albums when I heard the title track of this album on Radio 2, driving home in the car. And I'm glad I did. All the songs on this track evoke summer and the sun. They are full of life and not C&W at all (not that C&W is a bad thing). Think constant craving but more upbeat. I'm no musicologist, so I'm not really qualified to tell you about tunes and mixing and what have you, but I did really enjoy this album, it's worth every penny.

Lang has the best voice of any living singer of popular music and this is one of her finest albums. Buy with confidence.

I've be a fan of k.d's for many years, but I'd forgotten how good and how fun her early work was. I had also forgotten how strong k.d's voice was even in the really wacky songs. This is a CD of 20 really enjoyable songs, bright and lively and will lighten up even the most boring of days! There is a mixture of songs from her early albums, that have been tweaked a little here and there but are basically in their original form, plus a couple of real gems that were never on previous albums. "Friday Dance Promenade" and the specially recorded "Changed My Mind". The CD is a wonderful compilation and has moved me to start playing all k.d's earlier albums again.

Being a huge fan of KD, I could not wait to hear a taste of her new music, however I was so dissapointed. So bland and boring, there is just no tune to this song. It is so long since Kd has released a quality album to compete with Ingenue or All you can Eat and if this example is of what to expect from the new album, then I for one will not be buying.
