21 Number Ones I wanted a CD of Kenny's best hits, and this one fitted the bill - almost. The only track it doesn't have is probably his most famous of all - Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town. The other tracks are a delight, especially the duets, and reminds us why we love the husky voice and storyline lyrics of this great man. A great CD to listen to when you're in a quiet mellow mood, perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine - or two!

One of the Best Christmas Albums of all-time. I have the C.D ,and the video, and the cassette. I play them every xmas and it just gets better. Dolly wrote most of the Carols and they are as good as the old classics. Great songs ,well sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. Very seasonal . Love it!!!

Kenny is my absolute favourite country artist. He and John Denver are my two heroes and this album was splendid in every way. If you're a newbie to Kenny's music you should pick this one out as it has all the classics. Recommended to both young and mature audiences, you won't be disappointed.

All Kenny's important British hits are here except Islands in the stream (a duet with Dolly Parton that can be found on her compilations) although Ruby don't take your love to town (a UK number two hit), Something's burning (a UK top ten hit) and Reuben James are solo re-recordings of songs that Kenny originally recorded with the First Edition. They don't sound very different from the originals. Kenny had two number one hits in the UK (Lucille, Coward of the county) and a top twelve hit with Lady (his biggest American hit - it spent several weeks at number one). You may remember a previous compilation, Ultimate Dolly Parton, that was released a couple of years ago. The standard American version was a single CD containing 20 tracks. The UK version had those tracks plus a bonus re-mix of Early morning breeze. There was also a double-CD version that contained 36 tracks, available by mail order only from one outlet in the USA, which did not allow orders from outside the USA. However, this version was released as standard in Germany so anybody who wanted it could by the German version if they couldn't buy (or didn't know about) the German version - it is available from several Amazon sites. I've not much to add to the reviews already posted. This is such a great value set that it would be foolish not to buy it. Norrington's interpretations are quirky and may not be to everyone's taste (especially if you're used to hearing more stately performances). However, I don't agree with the notion that these performances don't carry weight, in comparison to other recordings. The feather-light touch of the LCP let's the textures breathe so much better than heavier versions, that the poignant and powerful moments in every symphony automatically grow in stature and impact. Go on...for this price you might as well give it a try, even if you're still not convinced by the endorsements of myself and others!

For a long time,"Islands in the stream" stand in my mind as a measure for a perfect song.Then,just a few weeks ago,thanks to Amazon,finally i have got opportunity to purchase a whole album "Eyes that see in the dark.And i was quite surprised to found an album equaly perfect. Songs like "This woman","Buried treasure","Evening star","Midsummer nights","Living with you","I will always love you","Eyes that see in the dark" also are masterpieces of 80's pop music. It is hard to decide what is the best thing here: Rogers vocals that are pure perfection,Bee Gees songwriting or Barry Gibb's production (just listen exchange of Kenny's vocals and Bee Gees' backing vocals in "I will always love you").Even two slow ballads "Hold me" and "You and i" does not ...
