This rerelease of old Krishna Das lacks the silence that seperates the tracks on the origanal cds so one is hurled from one track to another without the space to apriciate where one has been. Ideal for anyone who is new to KD's fantastic kirtan sessions but a bit of a waste of time for all us old fans.

Krishna das offers up a plate of heavenly fare on this disc. His deep, calm voice is soothing, meditative, his love for God more than evident. At times, the disc sounds like light country-rock, with shades of artists like Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. An ancient Tibetan mantra was turned into a modern meditation-chant, with Sting helping out on the vocals. For fans of this type of music, Krishna das is one of the best; for newcomers, he marks an excellent place to start.
