Sony seems to have long-deleted several CDs by L'Archibudelli a group highly regarded in the 1980s and early 1990s. As much of this was Mozart, that's fine by me, but the HIP approach to late-romantic music is always going to be a bit controversial. Although I have several HIP (or "authentic") albums, much of this is on vinyl in the loft nowadays, so you can guess how long ago those LPs were bought! As a non-musician, all I can say that HIP is all to do with cat guts and tuning or something like that. All I care about is whether the music is good or bad and Brahms' sextets are very lovely.
