I was watching a film & there was this beautiful song playing in the background. I spent some time trying to find out who & what it was, and finally I found Laura Pausini ! This is the only foreign language cd I have; I don't understand a word of it, but it just doesn't matter, it's really beautiful, particularly tracks 11 & 13 - my current favourite album.

Resta in Ascolto is a magnific album!!! Laura's @ her best as usual! Her voice is strong, confident & you can feel all her emotions coming through!!! I'm Italian so I knew laura music since the very beginning of her artistic career & appreciate her!! With this album, I've fallen in "love" completely!!! Even my husband, that is english & doesn't speak italian, have this album on his PDA & listen to it (& singing!!!) all the time!!! It's very difficolt to pick a favorite song from this album....they're all faboulous!! And if you like her voice on CD, live it's even stronger!!! Do buy this CD without hesitation....& go to see her live in concert, you won't be disappointed @ all!!!! ... Read More:

Well, given as a 'gift' I thought i'd try new territory.... this started a bit too soppy 'love searching' et al. But it did redeem its self half way in, as I kind-of enjoyed it as background music... one to drive on a hot summer afternoon to. Great voice though! One for love smittens or just broken up's... I did end up quite liking some of it.

Laura has taken to doing a cover album of Italian favourites and she does it so well. I am an English speaker with limited knowledge of the Italian language but I love all of Laura's music, as to the album, I was only really 'au fait' with Destinazione Paradiso as I have the Gianluca Grignani version but her version is brilliant. Among the others I really like the duet with Tiziano Ferro. After having this album for many months it's still in my top play list.

I absolutely agree with the other costumer's commentary on this album. I fell in love with Laura's music seven years ago, and I like all her albums, but this one is really special. It is her best ever. I can't get enough of listening to it. "Cómo se hará", "Somos hoy" and "The Extra Mile" are so great that I get moved everytime I listen to them (which is quite often). Laura's voice is so special, so great and nevertheless she's so modest that once you listen to her (singing or even speaking) you just have to fall for her.

Having listened to almost all of Laura's previous (Italian) albums her first English CD is a big disappointment for me. I'd say Laura has lost her touch. Not only does she 9recycle: two formerly Italian songs from her last Italian album. Also, track 12 is just a piano version of track 7, so you end up having only nine 9new: songs. Nevertheless (or because of that?) I got the feeling that all in all the Italian soul has gone. When you love to listen to Italian music and when you don't care what the lyrics are (and in Laura's case I don't) then do yourself the favour and buy an Italian album. I'd give Laura a couple of stars for any of her previous albums but this one deserves no more, sorry!

This CD is full of haunting melodies. There are a few up tempo tunes but Laura excells at delivering ballads. I was given the album by a friend to help me improve my Spanish; and it certainly helped as I cannot stop singing "Gente"! A lovely collection...I'm also going to buy it in Italian.
