Imagine If Jean Michel Jarre really had the funk gene or was more interested in partying than chilling out then I think Where You Go I Go Too is a credible approximation of what he would sound like. Lindstrøm is the sobriquet of Norwegian producer Hans-Peter Lindstrøm and he has remixed work by artists as diverse as Franz Ferdinand , Roxy Music , Imagination and LCD Soundsystem but on this album he creates three tracks covering 55 minutes of what has been dubbed space disco. I can see why too as there is definite groove to this music . It is gloriously fluid with gyrating flights of fancy but with a rhythmic under pulse that keeps its metaphorical feet glued to the ( no doubt chrome and glass) dance floor. Spacey electro and disco conneisseur Lindstrøm shows his more quiet side with a downtempo, ecclectic vocal showing through the decades. He brings together some obscure vocalists, both old and new, along with a some familiar chords, such as Carly Simon, Dusty Springfield, and Sly and the Family Stone. There are a few spots in the mix where the tempo picks up, but it's mostly about subtle musical twists in genre, and drawn out, soulful turns on the mic. I like the fact there's almost an equal share between male and female vocals. There's also an excellent spoken word track by recent newcomer, Farah, which fits deep into the mix perfectly, with it's lush, building italo disco soundscape backing her. Many years ago (7 I think?) Kruder and Dorfmeister gave us 'the sessions'. Total chill-out bliss. As good as it got. Anyway, in case you thought that was the last of this genre you were wromg. These Norwegian supremos have brought us as good an album as 'the sessions'. I never thought I'd say that but I have. If its soothing, warm, liqiud electronica you want then here it is, in it's purest form. Enjoy, relax and open a bottle of Chateau neuf du pape.

when i saw this i was a little confused, didn't quite grasp what it was compared to the primary artist album. If you have the first album and you like it, you'll like this, it's classic L&PT. if you bought the album on the strength of some mixes and 'i feel space' and felt a little dissapointed then this may twiddle with your kniblets a little more. Reinterpretations are very mangled remixes of the first album tracks, there's more driving disco beats on this so for DJs like me I will be getting lots of value out of this collection. track 2 is my favourite, a piano lead house track that i expect to be played by lots of the cooler dj's over the winter, other highlights include the 20 minute plus track 8 which is very strong. this is a strong collection ...
