If you are a massive fan of their old sound, of the Nu metal, then you should definitely avoid this album. If you are a music fan with an open mind then you should definitely purchase this. The sound that they have created is incredibly different. I really don't know why they changed that much. Once I like a band's sound I really don't like it when they try and reinvent themselves to change that, and that's exactly what Linkin Park have done here. I bought Meteora as my first Linkin Park album back in 2003 and I instantly loved it. The sound of the music was so unique, and to a 13 year old, pretty surprising as well. Meteora was the band's pinnacle and it is such a fantastic album. Then, after a couple of years of no activity from the band, ... Read More:

A few years ago I remember buying this and thinking it was a really good album and it is a very good album, it has great lyrics, good riffs, and great songs and that's all you need. My favourite songs are "Somewhere I Belong", "Faint", "Figure .09", "Breaking The Habit" & Numb". I don't mind what genre they are in they are a good band (if you forget about there new album), they are much better then Korn & Limp Bizkit and have much more talent, but still it was obviously never gonna be as good as Megadeth's So Far So Good So What! or Black Sabbath self titled debut but those are totally different genres and my own opinion. So overall this is an excellent album recommended for Linkin Park fans and fans of rap metal.

I first heard Linkin Park's `Crawling' on a Saturday morning music show- I had never heard anything like It. I'd never really been into music before, but the angst ridden, thundering chorus of this song really spoke to me. On the strength of the single alone I bought the album and - to my delight - loved it!

Even though the album and band where bourn for an era where short-lived Nu-metal ruled the world, after which many bands failed to move on from the sound which popularized them and subsequently where soon defunct, linkin park have survived and have since built on the solid foundation of Hybrid Theory, pursuing various sounds and becoming one of the only successful bands to meld together rap and metal.

I'd be lying if ... Read More:

Absolutely brilliant gig. All the acts on the bill were brilliant (except The Bravery) I drove 3 and a half hours from Manchester for this gig, and it was so unbelievably worth it
If you missed this gig live, then make sure you buy this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can see how this album has divided opinion among Linkin Park fans for it's seemingly large step away from the Linkin Park norm.
I can also see that those who bought 'Reanimation' on it's release date would have been understandably disappointed, as this is in it's basic form a remix album of the previous 'Hybrid Theory' and not a brandspanking new creation.

That said, although this is indeed a new direction it is in my opinion an outstanding collaboration project between Linkin Park and the numerous DJ's and artists that helped create this interpretation of 'Hybrid Theory'

The fact that the songs taken are in so many ways indistinguishable but at the same time being incredibly reminiscent is amazing. It's a fresh take on the ... Read More:

I will be the first to admit I am a new LP fan. After acquiring an iPod and pumping it full of my favourite music (Mostly rock) I set about looking for new sounds and came across Linkin Park. After purchasing Hybrid Theory I was hooked. The rawness, the lyrics, the rhythm... man it's all good! Meteora was just as excellent purchase and when I found out about this CD/DVD I couldn't resist. I have a number of music DVDs and DVD-Audio compilations and this ranks at the top with the best of them. Playing it on a dedicated surround sound system with the volume up is the best way to experience it. It's energetic, loud and packed full of their best music, and the sound quality is on a par with a studio recording. The opening song, "Don't stay" just sends goose pimples up ... Read More:

One reviewer has done a pretty informative review, so I don't have that much more to describe about this album. After buying Meteora in the summer of 2003, I was waiting for over a year to hear some new material from Linkin Park. However, this wasn't quite what I was looking for. The other 2 reviewers are hamming up this album and are saying that it is a great album. In my opinion they are so wrong. I am certainly not a Jay-Z fan, although I do like 99 problems which I had heard before I bought this. I think that anyone who likes both Jay-Z's music and Linkin Park's will be basking in brilliance with this album. In my opinion, the two styles just don't fit into each other. You have the suburban street rap of Jay-Z, which is full of F words and negativity, next to the great ... Read More:

I had only one problem with this album the live code i was unable to find out how to use it but i wasn't phased by this when i listened to the bonus track 'no roads left'

No Roads left should have been released on the main album as it is a great example of how linkin park are developing and it is also a really good tune to listen to.

the other 2 bonus tracks aren't that great one is Given Up just a little different and What Ive Done Distorted Remix.

The rest of the album is phenomenal and tracks that have been released as singles are 'What Ive Done' 'Bleed It out' 'Shadow Of The Day' 'Given Up' and 'Leave out all the rest'.

as a hardcore linkin park fan i think it is worth paying the extra for the tracks

What a fantastic track! Minutes To Midnight was one of my favourite albums of 2007 and i had forgotten how absolutely brilliant this track was but now, released as the 5th single from the album, it's all come flooding back.

Starting with a haunting electronica tinged intro of synth-strings and echoing beats, Leave Out All The Rest showcases Linkin Park on top form, Chester's vocals some of his best ever and switching effortlessly between the soft, moving verses to the angsty all-out chorus. This and Shadow of The Day have proven that the band are just as skilled at straight up alternative rock stuff as their nu-metal/rap roots and it's portrays a confidence to them that really shows through in their music.

This is an amazing cd/dvd, combines the best parts of both artist's work amazingly blended. The only problem is the shortness of the music, because its obviously time consuming to mix these songs. But other than that a great selection of songs which work so well together. Most of the songs are timeless classics.
