Having generally skipped most of her albums since "Ray of Light" the 'new' image and musical direction shown on "4 Minutes" did little to make me want to buy this on initial release. However as a fan of older style Maddie tracks "Give It To Me" and the less dated "Miles Away" tipped the balance in the end. The problem wth an album like this is it isn't going to impress genuine R'N'B or Rap fans, and neither is it going to satisfy the fans who want a follow-up to the dance-pop of "Confessions". So give her her due, she decided to straddle the genres and see what happened! There are some good tracks on here, but there are also some painfully overlong ones and bouts of very lazy lyrics (something more apparent in recent albums). ... Read More:

This has to be best track and video I've seen from Madonna. I've heard the Confessions album a few times. The album's okay, but I forgot about this number until I saw it recently on the box. Dance-electro-synth tunes do suit Madonna's style. I grew up listening to synth's and drum machines in the eighties. Her producer Stuart Price likes the same stuff as shown with his Les Rythme Digtales setup. It does sound fresh and modern, compared to stuff in the chart's. The music production is first class. Top synth and beat's with a smart fast paced video to boot. It not often you see an American pull off such a good Euro sound.

They are very nice tracks but I find you do not need them. You can buy them in lots of places! On The Immaculate Collection CD, her first debut 'Madonna' plus the B-Side was her next single so it's pretty bizzare! Let me just tell you the tracks are very good and are the album versions of Holiday and Lucky Star. Both songs are excellent. As i've said above though, the only reason I have rated this release 2-stars is because you can buy the remastered first album with these tracks, along with 8 others plus The Immaculate Collection, along with 15 others! So it's pretty useless and pointless buying this CD Single at the end of the day. I would only reccommend this CD to really, really die-hard Madonna fans who can't stand not having any CD from ...
