Music : Vogue [12" VINYL]
In the spring of 1990, Madonna kicked off the decade in a fashionable way with the club anthem "Vogue," which is one of her signature and most recognizable hits. Shep Pettibone's production gives it an infectious house-ed up vibe, and it's armed with one of the most memorable basslines I've heard in any dance single. As a tribute to trendsetting Hollywood legends, the single did cause some controversy among groups who pointed out that it ignored the Black actresses whose style and glamour inspired the "voguing" that's now known as a dance. It's a valid point, but there's still no denying the rush of energy that this single delivers. Even after all these years, "Vogue" still remains in vogue. A definite classic.

absolutly no regrets.
a decent song for madonna completists...while never outstanding...its very good.
Bedtime stories was also a very good album and rank it at 8th place on my madonna album list, and one of my favourites due to its mellow attitude and r n b feel that give it spunky atmosphere creating a great mood to relax to.
i reallylike it and am a major fan of Maddie...who isn't?

Music : Cherish (Extended Version)
The single Cherish is a very good piece by Madonna. I first discovered it, after i bought the Immaculate Collection cd. The song has a relaxing feel and is really cool. The video clip of Cherish features Madonna and several creatures, half human and half the body of a fish. I would really suggest this single also because the other song found on this single - Supernatural is not found on any of Madonna's official cd's and it is also a cool song.

...so don't believe anyone who says this cd is BAD!

The remixes on this CD are excellent. It is a beautiful item to listen to but you have to get up and dance!

1. Bedtime Stroy: Album Edit. The video version to the song. This version is much better than the album version!

2. Bedtime Story: Junior's Wet Dream Mix. The infamous group that mixed up Madonna's 'Secret' also. But... these remixes are even better! This mix is probably the best on the CD.

3. Bedtime Story: Junior's Dreamy Drum Dub. This version is a Drum Dub Mix. Again mixed by Junior Vasquez and sounds abit like track 2. This remix is not as good as #2.

4. Bedtime Stroy: Orbital Mix. I think everyone will disagree with me when I say ... Read More:

87.Burning Up by: Madonna

Music : Burning Up
For the final release of Madonna's debut album she released a double A-side single of Burning up and Physical Attraction, and, as with most material off The First Album, it must be looked at as if you were someone from the early/ mid 80s to appreciate it fully.

First up is the 12" remix of Burning Up, a much much more 80s sounding version than the album version. The original version was very Debbie Harry influenced track and this version takes it and gives it a gloriously camp 80s electro synth back beat to it so you can't help but enjoy it. Secondly, is the rather lacklustre Physical Attraction, a song that easily just blends in with the rest of the filler tracks from The First Album. Burning Up would have made a better stand alone single.

Music : American Pie, Pt. 1
Possibly the reason that no-one else had reviewed this was, like me, they were a bit confused, having ordered one thing and getting another. The description lists 4 tracks; mine came with 3. But, hey - that's OK - I only wanted the main one ("album version") anyway. The other two are listed as "variants" of "American Pie" but, if you can find it in there anywhere, you're doing better than I am. No, this ISN'T the same as Don McLean. If that's what you want, you'll get plenty of "Don McLean's Greatest Hits" [or whatever] in Woolies. I've never been interested in Madonna, but I heard this on late-night radio and the first thing I picked up on was the sequencer patterns. That and a good female voice (didn't know who it was) singing a classic song made ... Read More:

Music : Who's That Girl
This song was a hideous and glaring omission from "the immaculate collection". People who actually have some appreciation of substance over style in music will concede that that is the definitive Madonna collection, and with the addition of this single all of her most memorable 80's hits are covered.

You don't have to be a die hard fan to buy this, only interested in hearing the most successful (and exciting) female artist of the eighties basking in production and tunesmanship which is sadly lacking in modern pop music.

Long live the eighties, long live uplifting pop craftsmanship, long live this kind of production, and Madonna can you stop making "trendy" rubbish with annoying bleeping sounds and voice morphing and get back to doing ... Read More:
