I must say, these past reviews make a very interesting read, particulary Mr Dooley's impertinent rant. I am in favour of all the people who have commented about what this Welshman has to say, we are supposed to be reviewing Bolan's music, not his lifestyle. I would be most suprised if this Arthur man was able to control his ego if he was subject to the same success that Bolan had. In Bolan's defence, I would like to point out that in the summer of 76, Bolan had slimmed down (though I fail to see why we should metion his weight) and released 'I Love to Boogie' one of my all time favorite songs. Marc Bolan was a fantastic songwriter and musician whose music has brought me through my childhood and into my teenage years.

As Music fan I didn't know any Information about Marc Bolan Until 2004 when I've seen him on VH1,I told my Friends who's this artist? where's he from?,if I colud say anything else about T.Rex I'll say they're the most talent band in last Century along with Beatles,this Collection for what you locking for about T.rex.

I bought this for my daughter-ahemm-on her 11th birthday because of the 'Billy Elliot' effect. She hummed 'We love to boogie' so much we boughtn this hoping she would play it out but we found ourselves quietly-cough-singing along and knowing more of the words than we expected or were prepared to rpeviously admit we knew. A good basic compialtion to have in your collection if you like the Seventies-Life on Mars went some way to gettin my husband and I to forgive the terrible wrongs the era did us and the selection is better than you'd think. Really it needs to be spread over the two albums as there are more hits than you think along with songs you don't know and enough variety that might make you buy some of T-rex's other albums. Wow !! The remastered DVD is fantastic & this CD supplements it with the soundtrack of the film & the live performance from the "bonus" DVD of the two disc DVD package. The live recording in particular crackles with energy & excitement. You can feel the hysteria & you can feel the quality - this really does make you wish you could see Marc live again. The film soundtrack CD is also of the highest quality & offers ample evidence of just how good Marc could be. Just fantastic all round.

T Rex are a band from my youth. Imagine my surprise when I put this on in the car and the kids started singing along. How could they have even heard of Marc Bolan. Then it hit me.... Just how many of these great songs are used in adverts or as background music in films and TV programmes. Great album... a must for any Bolan or T Rex fans.. old and young.

We have heard it all before. We have read it all before but it has never sounded so good as this. A well packaged 3 cd box with photo & text booklet. Care and attention has gone into the production of this set of Bolan's BBC radio recordings and at an affordable price, its well worth adding it to any Bolanites collection or just as entertaining to the uninitiated.

Marc Bolan made some great records. The trouble is he stopped making them after 'Slider'. From 'My People Were Fair.....' he improved enormously with every album, right up to 'A Beard of Stars'. For 'T. Rex', he took a side step and made an album that was very different but still great. 'Electric Warrior' was (I think) about as good as 'T. Rex' but then the rot set in. 'The Slider' contained a lot of 'filler' ('Telegran Sam' and 'Metal Guru' to name but two). After that it was downhill all the way. Bland, often repetetitve and VERY over-produced (though many of the alternate or 'work in progress' versions show that his basic song writing was still reasonably sound). Unfortunately, much of the stuff on this album is absolutely second rate. And that's being generous. ... Read More:

'Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow' was released in 1974 (which may I say is a splendid title.) As an album people have said that it was a comercial failure. Marc was trying to get rid of the glam rock sound and adding soul and making the T.Rex sound heavier. Adding more strength in backing vocals, heavy guitars, a louder more hard hitting sound. In my opinion I think this album is under-rated. It deserves more recognition that what It's earned I think. Also the album was a real grower on me. The more I listened to it the more I liked it. The album starts off with the song 'Venus loon'. 'Venus loon' is a very cathchy song. Same with 'Sound Pit', 'Explosive Mouth', and 'Galaxy'. Also when ... Read More:
