I own the original MB-Greatest Hits 85-95, and noticed Amazon's tracklist was wrong, there are 17 songs on this CD, 14 = I Promise You 15 = I Found Someone but as for a review, then this is the best CD to start your Michael Bolton Collection with, but what you will find with this artist is the catch 22 with verious artist music, after a few CD's, then you got nearly all the songs, and only buying albums for 1 or 2 new songs, which while it is only a couple of pound then it is worth getting, but not at full rrp.

Over the last 20 years Michael Bolton has written for some of the finest (Cher, Barbara Striesand, Kiss, The Pointer Sisters, Kenny Rogers), so it is fitting that on his latest release; the first for his own label (Passion Studios), Michael Bolton interprets and makes his own, songs that were made classics by legends such as Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles. Unfortunately, today it does seem the norm for people to produce an album of standards and it is easy to do just that (Westlife, Michael Buble, Jamie Callum, Robbie Williams). here, here we have Bono and Co. doing the majestic Miss Sarajevo, but the version of One has a better ending here than the album version, and works well on this album following Ave Maria, other highlights are Linger. The whole recording is well mastered. A nice booklet too. This a WAR CHILD charity album.

At the end of the 80's came "Sould Provider", and all the girls whent crazy about this long curly haired R&B singer. Today his legend lives on, and is a saying about what a real mans record collection should not contain. This is ofcourse not totaly fair, coz even thoug he became a womans artist, he is still a serious singer with a great voice. The album contains many hits, and hopefully he will earn his respect with the male record collector with this re-release.

This is actually suprisingly ok, for someone of Michael's calibre. The songs listed truly are 'classics', and the vocals are not as bad as I had feared. 'Reach out, i'll be there' is surely one of the best songs ever written and it stands out as a special on this album. Hold On, and Knock On Wood also bring out the best in Bolton. If you have never heard or liked Michael Bolton before, I would not buy this album, although it may suprise the rest of the population.
