I'm not denying the quality of the music which is 5 stars all the way. However, since his last album of original music 8 years ago there has now been 4 compilations, as well as his 4 main albums being re-released, thriller 25 last year etc. Enough is enough ! We want some new original music.

Unlike the 'seen it all before' 1CD version of this collection, this one actually a wider spectrum of his music - which can only be a good thing! It's inevitable that the publics choice of songs on CD1 will end up containing all the usual MJ songs (Billie Jean, Thriller, Don't Stop, Rock With You etc...) so it's a huge relief to also have a second CD with some of his less remembered but in some cases much better hits. Despite what I said about CD1, it still is great (it is Michael after all). thriller is a classic but the rimixes are pathetic but the dvd and packageing make uo for that overall goodbuy!!

Wow, not a single reviewer rates it less than five stars. As good as they may be, later albums sound contrived in comparison. It's just fresher more 'alive' than his other stuff. If you don't already have this, don't hesitate.

Michael Jackson is THE ultimate performer. Regardless of how you see him as a person, he is an electrical force to be reckoned with in his work. That man can MOVE!! No one can move like him, his voice is immediately recognisable, his style is stupendous. He has given us some memorable music and dance, and I for one am grateful for that. Who could ever forget Thriller, Billie Jean, and my own personal favourite, Man in the Mirror? This album contains tracks that can be found on previous works, but all together on one album? It is as simple as this, if you are a fan of the Jackson 5, then this is a CD that you must have. The CD contains most of the hits, from 'I Want You Back' to 'ABC'. The only thing that disappointed me about this CD is the absence of 'Who's Loving' You?' which in my opinion is one of the Jackson 5's greatest songs. At the time of recording this album Michael Jackson was a very angry man, the Chandler case had been going on and other people in authority were trying their best to ruin him. This was the biggest selling black artist of all time and he was living in Neverland Ranch in a purely white community, people were jealous and wanted his musical career finished. This album was Michael's answer to them. The songs Scream, They don't care about us, Stranger in Moscow, This time around, D.S, Money, Childhood, Tabloid Junkie and 2bad all relate to Michael's life at that time, which is why i've given this album 5 stars, this isn't his best album by a long shot but it is still a fantastic and very personal album and the people who give this a low score should sit back with headphones ... I'm actually listening to this album as I write my review to get some inspiration! MJ's on the music industry cannot be acknowledged as anything else but massive! He's been in the public eye since the 1960's so there's no doubting his brilliance. His private life is another subject alltogether but, that aside, the man is a pop genius who has a huge influence in a variety of musical styles. I'm not a huge MJ fan but I am able to see the mastery of his songs and the impact they have had on his fans. "Number ones" is an 18 track compilation of his greatest hits and I quite agree with the album title...they are number ones - each song in it's own way has been brilliant! Forget Michael Jackson's later stuff (although Thriller was good), there is some cracking music on here. Discs 1 and 3 are better as Michael is more to the fore. The packaging is a bit flimsy and there is a list of credits behind each disc in the pack, although you need good eyesight to read it! But these are minor quibbles as this is a bargain for so many great tracks
