Music : H.A.A.R.P: Live from Wembley CD/DVD (Special Edition)
Just to make it clear, the difference between this version and the standard version are:

1: This version comes in a deluxe card box rather than the standard jewel case.

2: This version also contains 3 limited edition cards (one of each band member).

THIS VERSION DOES NOT HAVE EXTRA TRACKS AS SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAYING

therefore I would say that unless you are an absolute fanatic who has to have all the limited edition stuff then the standard edition is fine. On the Dvd itself the concert is excellent but a bit disappointed that the "backstage footage" is only 10 mins long. good though.

Music : The Real Ramona
There's a hook in Kristin Hersh's head, several actually. Pop hooks, industrial strength. The songs in TRR are so hooky and memorable that they'll make you wonder if this is the same band we listened to in their 1986 debut. The songs are drenched in melody and dreamy shimmer yet also in nightmarish glimmer. Tanya's songs are her absolute best while Hersh also steps up her pop know how. The vocal harmonies reach celestial heights. TRR is a delight, not at all lightweight but their most accessible.

Are you a Muse Fan? If you're thinking of buying this album then you are either a Muse fanatic already, or you will be very soon, and if you haven't heard any of these songs already then I envy you - you are in for one crazy audio thrill-ride.
What's so great about this album is it's originality - it takes our usual idea of what rock music is and turns it on its head, electrocutes it, sticks it in a blender and then stuffs it down your throat, much to your masochistic glee. The music is dark, vicious and incredibly addictive, and by the time you've heard Bliss, with its ethereal arpeggios and super high voltage riffs, you will be hooked to the end. It's super badass.
Pretty much every song is unbelievable in its own right. Muse pull ... Read More:

I have every album Kristin Hersh ever made (and thats a lot) including 50 foot wave stuff which is superb, however Limbo is my favorite by a mile with its amazingly catchy tunes wonderfully produced (something that has let some of the earlier albums down) similar in style to university only a little rockier. Ignore the reviewers who only gave 3 stars they obviously dont appreciate a polished sound, I assure you if you buy this you will not be dissapointed and will not be able to stop playing it. No fillers here just pure powerpop at its best.

Another fine album. Alongside The Real Ramona, their most pop-orientated album.

So catchy, so inspirational...

"Let's conspire to ignite all the souls that would die just to feel alive."

My favourite single of the year on its release. Enough said.

I will be chasing the starlight until the end of my life...

Tanya Donelly's departure really did leave a hole in the Throwing Muses albums from thereon but they were still worth getting excited about even if it meant no Tanya songs. Red Heaven won't hit you immediately but on repeated listenings, everything unravels and what you have is a rock album swivelling with a lot of songs running on pure spite and of course, the tint of surrealness (Carnival Wig).

Highlight: Furious

House Tornado was the strongest release of the early part of Throwing Muses career- advancing on the brilliant eponymous debut. As with the CD-version of The Pixies Surfer Rosa, this cd issue comes with a bonus mini-LP- in the form of The Fat Skier.

Tanya Donelly is advancing as a songwriter here- River is as good as the brilliant Green from the debut & her other track Giant sounds like the Go Betweens playing a Belly song. Kristin Hersh dominates for the most part- Juno, Colder, Drive, Mexican Woman & Walking in the Dark as good as it gets. This is an album to get lost in- & was not topped by the following releases, which contained some great songs- but were more commercial (see Hunkpapa, The Real Ramona). The Fat Skier bonus tracks ...
