As eluded to by most other reviewers (and every bit of Ozomatli marketing) time out magazine described Ozomatli as the best live act in the world. Having seen them live 5 times, i can say this is firmly true. In fact I don't think any other band comes even remotly close, the crowd interaction, atmosphere and vibe are all unbeleivable. Considering this, any cd is never going to do Ozomatli justice, and sometimes its hard to see past this. However Street Signs is a superb album in itself, a unique blend of styles and excellent production make this cd a joy from start to finish. At last another album from the guys!! Much the same as the previous albums but very enjoyable (takes me back to that summer night in Bracknell when the band took over the place, got everyone moving and created more smiles in one night than you'd see in Bracknell for years).

I first heard this album at uni in about 1999 - i was chilling out in my mates room when i heard the intro to 'Super Bowl Sundae' start playing. I was listening to this and just relaxing and then, BANG, the track transforms into the jazziest, funkiest slab of hip-hop you'll ever hear. I instantly fell in love with that song and, after a further 20 minutes, pretty much the entire album! This truly is an incredible collection of tracks - there's not a bad song on there and, if you haven't got this album, you need it. If you have got it, buy it again - it's THAT good!

This is legendary, they combine styles to perfection and have a live show to match. Their gigs are one big party and so is this release. It's a music for every mood and will please all you hip hop fans and latin lovers. One of the finest bands to emerge in the last few years and this second album continues where the first left off.

Cut Chemist, who made his name as one half of Jurassic 5's turntable maestros shows off his mixing mastery as guest DJ on this Ozomatli single release from last year. Sounds as funky as you'd expect and the rapping (from such Mc's as J5's Chali 2na) is top notch. Definitely one to get the house pumpin' while we wait for the numerically challenged Jayou to tour the UK. Suite indeed.
