This has to be one of my absolute favourite albums of recent months. It's Will Holland at his absolute best. Even if you're not familiar with this man's work, I defy you not to like this!!

There is an old saying in music that you are only as good as your last album, and I am afriaid Quantic may be suffering from this in the public's perceptions at the moment. The Fifth Exotic, Stampede and Apricot Morning are all wonderful albums that have been played and played to death on my system...but his last effort An Announcement To Answer left me cold. There seemed to be little spark or originality there. So when this new release hit the streets I have to admit to being a little non-plussed. Could I be bothered to make the effort? This album is by far the best I have in my collection! It has so much funk it's unreal. I love it!!!! For all the Alice Russell fans, you couldn't get anything better than The Quantic Soul Orchestra and Alice Russell together....bring on some more Tru Thoughts!

Sorry but... I was really disappointed with this after 'Fifth Exotic'. Apricot Morning is filled with inane unchanging happy beats which come nowhere near the depth of 'Fifth Exotic', which for me, was almost a work of genius. There are some really nice tunes on this CD, especially 'Trouble from the River', but the number of glowing five-star reviews is a bit much.

There are too many five-star ratings within Amazon. If a funk/soul masterpiece like Donald Byrds' 'Ethiopian Knights' is considered a five-star offering then what the hell is this? I've been suckered in by the reviews of people who must be non-musical because this is GCSE-level messing about.

A unique collection of some true gems. While "Funky Thing" is the highlight the rest of these rare funk 45s while have your heading bobbing in apprication. Well worth the purchase price if you have even a passing interest in this genre.

If you haven't yet dicovered the delights of Will Holland (Mr Quantic himself) then there's no time to lose! The guy is quite simply on another level, he cannot be compared to or bettered! My first insight to his talents came through a friends recomendation of Quantic Soul Orchestra's 'Stampede' and there has been no turning back, needless to say that it and his other gems were soon quickley purchased. How can you describe his grooves? Dusty-funky-jazzy, soulful and generally feel-good! OK, I gave it quite a few labels but it's true, silp on an album and be taken on a journey you will just keep on wanting to ride! Definately an genre for all ages - do yourself a favour and buy this or any other Quantic album, you will not be disappointed! Go on, you deserve ... Read More:

I'm not too sure about the style of this album being coherent as a whole. I prefered the mix of song styles in the other albums. I don't really like the constant latin/hip-hop etc/jazz style. All Will's other Quantic albums have had more electronic elements in them, along with the jazz etc mixed in, and this one seems to lack that for me, apart from in "Tell It Like You Mean It". The sound seems quite messy in each song, therefore making it less relaxing. I guess I was just waiting for an answer that resembles that of the great "The 5th Exotic" album, and "Apricot Morning". But I should get used to it.

being a quite a fan of laid-back funk music, i was really happy to buy this album, especially after such a positive reviews. But, how they say: if it is too good to be true, it probably is:-( Didn't enjoy it a bit, felt even cheated in a way:-( Pity:-(
