I have been a big fan of Ben Folds since hearing uncle walter back in 1995, so i feel well placed to comment on this latest effort. I have never been compelled to review on amazon before but having read the other reviews here i feel someone needs to bring some sense to the argument! Firstly, those who feel this album is crass have clearly only been into ben folds since the release of songs for silverman. Had they listened to any of his other albums, they would realise that his witty, un-pc style is exactly what makes ben who he is...one of the best songwriters of our generation. This cd is packed full of Spektors trademark original-ness. Unfortunately she seems to have toned down a bit and looked for a more main stream sound. Theres not the same quirkyness thats found in her earlier songs 'baby jesus' and 'music box' etc. This is a great album and i advise any music lover buy it as it is truly original. However I only hope Spektor goes back to her quirky ways in her next attempt.

When I bought this CD i had already heard Samson, Us, Better and various others, and like many people i thought she had a similar and of course more original style as Kate Nash; Listening deeper to this album however, there is a certain edge to this album that Kate Nash could never quite reach- Regina spurts off into unexpected and abrupt directions with her music, with unsettling tones that become rather surreal but beautiful- Chemo Limo is my favourite; it's like you're in a dream. If you like to hear fresh music that makes you feel alive and almost like a kid running through fields again, then this certainly is the one for you. it won't be anything like you've heard before, or your money back.... right amazon? ;)

This album is for UK fans, as her previosuly album/s not available in the UK. It contains songs from her previously album/s (not avaiable in UK). Amazing album - I wouldn't expect anything less from Regina. All quirky, edgy songs about a range of topics/people/events. Highly recommended.

I decided to buy the album because I couldnt find a few of the songs below on download. There are only 5 songs on the album, but if your a big fan, I think its worth it. all of her songs are special and unique. tracklisting: ain't no cover - a favorite of reginas to open with at her live shows carbon monoxide - i prefer the recorded album version to this one pound of flesh - an amazing song about the poet erza pound the noise - a little ballad my man - which if i remember correctly she doesnt use any instruments throughout.

This single is excellent and I love Regina Spektor's music. The advert, however, is rather misleading: the only tracks on this cd are On The Radio and Dusseldorf which are both available on the special edition of Begin To Hope.

I never really trust anyone who seems to be wilfully 'kooky', 'wacky' or in thrall to Tori Amos, which may be why some of Ms Spektors previous work has left me cold. And, really, I ought to be down on this like a ton of bricks, as childlike and nursery rhyme as it is. But there is something lurking away in the grooves that draws you into her little girl lost ways as the song slowly builds its way up, leading to a questioning of her own state of mind. Which is always to be encouraged. Over on the b-side, 'Music Box' (which only appeared on the special edition of the "Begin To Hope" album - nice touch, marketing guys), things go off in a left field, Parisian ballerina jewellery box style, which takes me back to my previous antipathy. ...
