This album can in no way be described as groundbreaking-but who cares-it takes the best parts of 'Smile' and builds upon them-for me 'Smile' was good and at times great, but it didn't quite work as a whole, whereas this album most definitely does and to be honest there's not a bad track on it:
1.The Devils Beat-Not a great choice of single, but I do like it and it probably is the most original track. 7.5/10
2.Shape I'm In-Generic pop and I love it! Catchy and melodic; brill vocals! 9/10
3.Wounded Hearts-My least favourite song on the album-forgettable. 6/10
4.Saturday Night-Catchy pop ditty! 8/10
5.Beatbox-Growing on me immensely, an intelligent song. 8/10
6.Remote Control Me-Great fun and what Sandi does ... Read More:

I heard this on a myspace profile, and fell in love with the songs at once. She just has a simply amazing voice, and one that you don't get bored of. This CD is just so warm and happy. It makes me smile :)

When I bought this song - which I REALLY like! - what I hadn't realised was that the b-side, the wonderful 'May You Never', was a cover of a song I have been looking for for 8 years! While Sandi has made a great job of covering it, if you like it, go find the original by John Martyn.

I was introduced to this song by my mum (who was a 60's teenager), who heard it on the radio. Every time I hear it I can't stop myself singing along!

Yes, it's a rose-tinted, idealistic view of things, but sometimes that is all we want. Other reviewers seem to be taking every word literally, and getting far too in-depth in their analysis. What I think Sandi is saying is that she wants to take the best elements of Punk (the attitude), Folk (the musical arrangements), and 'Hippy'(the innocence), and mix them together into her own style.

This song brings a little bit of summer with it - 2 1/2 mins of happy escapism!

Excellent track, superb vocals and great lyrics, that are well enough thought out that pop-trash enthusiast who think they are smart are caught out. She sings about 'punk rockers with flowers in her hair' and about '66 and '79 because she wishes to capture the mood of counterculture rebellion that united these disparate movements - not because she thinks they were actually the one and the same.

Take it for what it is , a pop song that is no worse , and infinitely better than the majority of the tripe that has occupied the charts over the past few years . I realise that every one is entitled to their own opinion , but the previous review seems to be slagging off just for the sake of it .
