I find it difficult to explain how good this album is. Global Underground refer to Invol2ver as a masterpiece (in the 'Global Underground 2009' sleeve notes. It is. I don't feel the need to qualify this statement. Sasha is peerless. Usually, I make the mistake of listening to albums too often and they quickly lose their appeal. However, this beautifully crafted album just gets better every time. Buy it.

I agree that the mixing is pretty seamless, as it should be if it's done in a studio. I can't help feeling that this is cheating really: there's a world of difference between mixing live (not necessarily in a club)and creating something in a studio on a computer, i.e. spontenaety. Along with all the other Global Underground series, this left me totally unmoved. I really don't get it: the whole series just seems to be a triumph of style over substance. Go for some of the Journeys by DJ stuff instead.

This is what I would class as an Essential Mix, as it is indeed essential to own. It is not a collection of tracks, it is one long wonderful journey of music the whole 77 minutes need to be given time without pause. By the end of listening there is a feeling of satisfaction of a job well done. All the track have steady beats with punching bass lines and high-flying melodies floating around on top giving an all-round experience for the listener. You do not have to dance, you do not have to do any activity - just sit and listen and be consumed by the music.

This mix celebrates Sasha's popularity in the US and I feel that they must love him for a different reason across the pond. Ever since hearing Xpander, I have been a massive Sasha fan. I think that he is one of the most talented electronic musicians ever, and his own work is absolutely fantastic. However, Sasha's commercial popularity will never result from his own artistry, but from his legend as a worldwide DJ. He is unquestionably one of the most popular DJs in the world, but I really don't think that this album does him any justice. On the previous mix called Involver, Sasha remixed and put together a beautiful selection of 10 tracks that flowed perfectly from start to finish. It was the true definition of a sonic journey. Have you ever seen an 'Air-drawn-dagger'? No? I haven't either. Whatever Sasha was imagining in that crazy mind of his, his debut album is somewhat far from drawing dagger's in the air in front of you. Through a flow of melodic and progressive sounds, he's just about one my vote for this being a very good album. If had the task of analysing and summing up the album in a few words, then 'dreamy', 'punchy', and 'mysterious' spring to mind. Airdrawndagger is a true tech-inspired journey through digital landscapes; chilled and energetic. Though this is a 'good' album, you shouldn't be afraid of nit-picking and criticizing many aspects of it. This latest addition to the Northern Exposure series once again re-emphasises the point that Sasha and John Digweed are two of the best DJ's in the world at this time, both individually brilliant, it's a credit to the music industry that they have yet again come together and assembled one of the finest progressive house/trance albums of recent years. The first CD is undoubtedly the better.. with track two - Space manouvres - Stage One, and track ten Mono Culture - Free standing out in particular. This is one of those albums that makes you (or at least it did for me) search frantically for the artists on the album to see what else they have produced. Sasha is an artist that is very much like the music equivalent of marmite--u either love him or hate him...for anyone that doesn't know sasha is a world-known DJ that seemingly shot to superstardom over night. Although many people don't like this I think the jump was well worth it. This is my first Sasha CD and all I can say is this is completely different to anything Ive heard before. The first CD starts off with, what I think, is a far too long introduction which quickly builds into chilled progressive trance. Anyone looking for euphoric uplifting tunes like Tiesto does in his Magik series you won't find much here. That's not to say it can't be enjoyed though. I've been a fan of Alex and Diggers for many years now, so this DVD has been been repeatedly played for along time. If you've just started to come into the progressive and tech filled world of Sasha and Digweed, then this is an excellent choice of documentary/filming that will bring you up to speed on not just how a tour is dealt with, but a scattered history of the 2 DJ's, along with a genuinely non-rehearsed script/filming style that is at times very funny. I'm a DJ myself and have many friends who know Alex in person, and this DVD pretty much sum's up the quite mysterious, unknown personality that surrounds the two DJ's, which was fantastic on my first viewing as I used to see them as idols.
