With two successful movies (and soundtracks) behind them, the original cast of High School Musical came together one last time to sing, dance, and act together. And fans of the first two will enjoy this soundtrack just as much as the others. As you'd expect, the music ranges from pop to rock to Broadway to hip hop and back again. And I guess I've gotten used to it because even the more hip hop tracks don't bother me as much this go around. Of course, all the songs have a pop based that will appeal to the core audience of pre-teens. They know where their bread is buttered. High School Musical is being talked about by teenager's everywhere, so I was determined to see what it was like. I asked someone I knew (who is obsessed with it) If I could borrow their copy of the soundtrack - And now I wish I hadn't. For staters the actual music is just over-used up beat dance tracks. With some weak mordern R and B thrown in. The things kicks of with a song entitled "Start of Something New". The song is merely just a badly written, horribly sang pop song. The vocals are very poor, there are signs of lack of emotion (in all the tracks). The second one, which is more of an R and B tune, is well irritating. Hung in there with the first. However,this album has no artistic merit whatsover!! The worst thing any adult could do is take this in their car on a long journey - Be warned!!

This CD isn't just songs from Hannah Montana, but it has various other tracks from other singers or bands. I got it on Valentines day 2008 and listened to it that same night - I couldn't stop dancing!! I'd definately say it was worth buying and I'd reccomend it to anyone who is thinking about buying it. And it contains the lyrics aswell, so you can sing along to it when you're feeling lazy!

I have two little girls age 6 and 8. We have owned this cd for over 2 years and they just haven't tired of it. In fact I am contemplating buying another one as our original box is broken and the lyrics sheet unreadable! They know all the words and all the tunes and have spent many hours dancing on the lovely songs from the original soundtracks. This is a magical cd that I will keep forever long after my girls have left the nest to remind me what they used to be like when they truly thought they were princesses and that their prince charming would really come!

Overall, a good soundtrack, with nice references back to Casino Royale. But, where on earth is the end credits music? It's missing. Shame on Sony, as this was great.

An excellent soundtrack for an excellent series. Being four years older than Simon in 1997, this soundtrack has had me bopping around for days. Not only are there old classics, and also classics dressed up (cue Minogue & Minogue, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor), but some fantastic new music from Dan Gillespie. This includes the fabulous theme tune, and some spectacular orchestrations throughout. My only gripe is that the Annie medley from the Joseph episode isn't included. That said, it is a superb soundtrack!!

1) One Of Your Favourite Albums. 2) A Guilty Pleasure. Seriously. A lot of people hate Hannah Montana thinking its a stupid kids show when look at the fantastic music. The album starts with "We Got The Party", which is upbeat, and you will soon know everyword. Then comes "Nobodys Perfect", a frequent song on the show, and is more poppy than an explosion. Taking a break from pop comes "Make Some Noise", although having rock style is actually a slower ballad. But then it hits you-"Rockstar"-fast, addictive catchy. But "Old Blue Jeans" is a repititive-but GOOD song-how do I describe it? Electrical...Im not sure...But buckle up for "Lifes What You Make It", which has ''I should of been on the first album'' written all over it. ... Read More:

On the one hand, I am strangely drawn to the carefree and rather shallow exuberance of 'Grease', and it's songs, but on the other, I find it completely repellent. Because 'Grease' and it's accompanying soundtrack fail to chart the lows that a person's teenage years can provide. Somewhat accurately, it charts the lust and the obsession with sex that tends to characterise most teenage behaviour, but this film has nothing for the misfits and the individuals who have never been a part of the popular crowd. In essence, 'Grease' and it's accompanying soundtrack are a blatant nod to conformity, and the message is simple: conform, be part of a gang, be sex-obsessed, be shallow.
