Slowly my appreciation of English folk grows. Coming in by way of Seth Lakeman and Kate Rusby, I've been seeking out other current artists. None are better than Spiers and Boden. What a beautiful and big sound they make! This is a another great album. I love the vibrancy and the sheer melodiousness. I had the chance to see them live at Bath folk club last weekend and they played most of the tracks here. Wonderful. Kylie Minogue OBE? It should be going to the likes of these true musicians. By the album, yes, but you must also see them live - that's how folk should be enjoyed.

I bought this album after seeing the duo live at Sidmouth, I'll have to admit I was a little taken aback at first by the distinctive sound, but now I think its wonderful, I can't stop listening to it! Am looking forward to hearing their new album "Bellow"!

I really like this album. I somewhat agree with the previous reviewer that the material, at times, seems very different throughout the album. I don't know if that's bad or good though. Still, there is fantastic musicianship here and good singing too. Does anyone else think that Jon Boden's slight vibretto on some lines makes him sound like Major Bloodnok on The Goon Show? I think that's great stuff! Good singing.
