Well I just read a previous reviewer who doesn't like the track 'This Ship' but that's my favourite on the album ! Look, make your own mind up. I think this album is a definate progression from their first with great rock tracks and meaningful lyrics. Listen to the samples available on some sites & if you like them, buy the album. Don't try to annlyze the thing, its art, if the songs make you dream then its a great album and I think it is.

I like Monster, its a good record. However, the album is full of quite lame tracks and I must confess to getting fed up with the bloke who has a very high pitched voice chipping in with his 'lyrics'. However, I feel that the Automatic do have potential. Not a terrible album but not great. Monster is worth it alone at this price mind.

Juliet Simms voice is amazing, it rivals Paramore's lead singers albeit slightly more husky. A great mix of alternative/rock/acoustic, August 28th 3:30am being my personal favourite, all the songs have passion and the lycrics/song writing are superb.Waitin for them to make an album godam...

5.Pigeonhole by: New Fast Automatic Daffodils

Music : Pigeonhole
New Fads landed on the music scene during the last great project - Madchester. That erogenous zone of the country that has produced ample talent and intoxicating sounds over the last 3 decades. Unfortunately 'pigeonhole' was overlooked due to the roses, mondays, charlatans having such high profile status in the then worthwhile read that was the NME. They were important and constructive in their songsmithry but were never put on such a higher plane as the others. Pigeonhole is a class act of an album - it's got funk, guitars that sting you they are so sharp, basslines to die for and drums that are tighter than a gnat's chuff. The sound is very raw and stripped down - neat and tidy with no over production and bluster. Andy's vocals are aggressive ... Read More:

This is a great album from a much overlooked band. If you like Happy Mondays/Black Grape etc then you'll like this. In fact, if you ask me this band beat the wotsit out of the Happy Mondays.
This album is worth owning for 'Bong' alone let alone the other tracks. There are a few weaker tracks on there so I knocked a star off but the good tracks are really good.
I don't know what happened to this band but I guess they were not seen to fit into the grunge or Britpop camps so were neglected. I saw them live at the Phoenix Festival in 93 and they were really good. They were infectiously groovy and really tight - the drummer and bongoes player combo has never been more successful if you ask me.
Its a shame that good bands like this dont ... Read More:

This song had me sooo confused. My 4 year old son had been singing it for ages and it was so catching I started singing it. I thought it was a theme tune to a kids telly show until I searched the web for something else and discovered it was an actual song which is fab. Love the band's style. Would like to get their album.

At a time when everyone was bleating on about the Happy Mondays, and even C-list copycat artists like The Soup Dragons (Aaargh), and Northside, this record went largely unnoticed by the masses, which is an absolute crime in my opinion.

The New FADS, as they were known, never really made a great album, but this track (get the 12" vinyl version rather than the album version) rates alongside the classic Stone Roses masterpiece, 'I am The Resurrection' for me, in the way that it just urges you to get on that dancefloor, or just jump around your bedroom. It's sheer energy, combined paradoxically, with a deadpan megaphone-style vocal delivery (which really works), make it a truly unique track.

You won't find a more danceable guitar sound ... Read More:
