I bought this album because I really like the track 'Mr Brightside' which is excellent and easily the best thing on the album. Some of the others are ok but I couldn't listen to this from start to finish as it would annoy me intensely. The reason I'm not that fond of it is because I often struggle to see a lot in mainstream pop music generally - it all seems to have either been done before or just doesn't mean anything to me I'm afraid! I appreciate that the band have been immensely successful and I would imagine that if you saw them live it would be a great performance. Not really my kind of thing on a CD though.

For someone who liked Hot Fuss, but didn't go crazy for it I find it bewildering that so many people think it was superior to Sam's Town. I have to sorry to those people but you are wrong Sam's Town is a fantastic album and clearly superior to HF in every aspect. Hot Fuss was a good first effort and Sam's Town is the coming of age of a band I think are just about the best around. Love it!

If, when you hear the warbling sound of Brandon Flowers erractic maybe flaky voice your ears prick up with glee, The Killers secretly brilliant lyrics pummelling through you, then I see you have no choice but to purchase this album immediately. You will not be put off by the simularity of the many tracks. (I frequently start singing one and accidently somehow blend it into another part way through.)
Nevertheless for the rest of us it is a good (rather long) collection of many moderate tracks, but intertwinded with some sparkling gems, true rarities. Nothing less than is expected.
A good heart gushing chat on the phone with a friend you haven't seen in a while to tide you over whilst you eagerly await their homecoming.

It's cheesy, and not in a good way. Brandon's unique vocal sound seems to be becoming more and more pronounced over time and it can begin to drag on the casual listener. The artwork is cheesy too as is the spoken word parts to the song.

It seems almost as if the Killers only released this song almost as a tradition to see if they could follow up the success of last year's fun A Great Big Sled.

It's not all bad though, while the verses may come across as lacklustre, the chorus is pretty damn good and suitably epic in that unique Killers style. Fans will lap this single up and to be fair, i think it has a lot of potential to grow with repeated listens but it just doesn't grab like so many of the ... Read More:

****FANTASTIC ALBUM****

This is one of the best albums of this type i have heard recently. There are some fantastic songs with great bass and some great songs with awesome drum bashing! You will probably recognise 'Smile like you mean it', 'All these things that i've done' and 'Somebody told me'. They are all recent big hits. You will also see that there are some that you don't recognise. 'Andy, you're a star', 'On top' and 'Glamerous Indie rock & roll'. Don't be put off buy the unkown!!! These are all great songs written superbly. I cannot think of any songs on here that i wouldn't want to listen to, there are no songs on here that aren't catchy and there are no songs that aren't well written hits! What i can garentee if you do buy this is apsolutepleasure ... Read More:

The first song to be taken from second album 'Sma's Town' and it takes off where 'Hot Fuss' left off. It marks a different sound for the killers and a much better one. They have developed musically and Brandon's voice is superb. This single is instantly catchy and should make anyone want to pick up the album.
