The tracks that stand out as 'chilled' music are great! Not enough of them. Many fillers, some i hadn't heard before, and for good reason, they either were not 'chilled' music or/and not easy to listen to at all. This really should be 2 discs, and be done with the unknown and unchilled.

Not a regular visitor to this genre, but this CD seems to lurch around between eighties All About Eve-style, to American country, to a vaguely mariachi style track sung with a Scots accent. It's all nice enough, and with a price tag to please, but it's not my understanding of earthy folk music.

The 28 tracks on this wonderful double CD are drawn from a series of 23 Ethiopiques albums put together by the inspirational French promoter Francis Falceto. This haunting, uplifting music which is an intriguing mixture of jazz, soul, funk & folk was created and recorded in Ethiopia during the final years of Emperor Haile Selassie's reign(1930-74). 'The Very Best of Ethiopiques' has been described as "doing for Ethiopia what the Buena Vista Social Club did for Cuba" and this marvellous music certainly deserves to reach the widest possible audience.

This Classic FM 2CD collection of classical guitar music was released at the same time as the Classic FM `Full Works' series of 50 separate CDs, so was slightly upstaged and pushed to the back of the class. However, it's Classic FM's first serious venture into the area of classical guitar music and with this in mind I think it's a well considered offering. It's not the `Ultimate' of course as the title claims - even a large collection of John Williams, Julian Bream and Andres Segovia wouldn't scratch the surface - but it does score well I think for its success at displaying the versatility of the instrument. This is a good CD with some catchy songs on it, but they can get a bit boring after a while. But it still has some catchy songs on it, so i'm giving it 5 stars.

I'm not from the US, my family hail from Kashmir and I was born in the UK, grew up listening to punk rock but WOW! The soundtrack literally drips with the era and place it hails from; every time I hear a snippet I swear I can feel the heat and smell the wheat - so amazing!

It really beggars belief that this catalogue of talentless rubbish has survived beyond its first pressing. Every single volume has been a travesty to real music, filled with codswallop from little known of, or totally unheard of artists making up 90% of the track listings. These abominations to the word "music" ought to be melted down and turned into something useful.

Delicate sounds; perfect for sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine. This arrived on Friday - and I have not stopped listening to it... Kinya Dawson's lyrics are amazing. Highly recommended.

To put it simply this is one of the best folk albums I have ever purchased, the choice of tracks is inspired, and I have found myself listening to it over and over again. It is simply superb, and worth every single penny! My favourite tracks are John Barleycorn and the charming ouses ouses ouses!
