My family and I loved the movie Shrek (of course!), and for Christmas my eleven-year-old daughter asked for this soundtrack. We got it for her, and we are all very happy! The songs sound wonderful: crisp and clear. My whole family recommends this wonderful CD to you. Plus, I must say that with this soundtrack is so wonderful that I would recommend it even to those who have never seen the movie. It's absolutely great!

This album is a rarity in modern soundtracks - it doesn't incorporate any "inspired by" tracks in place of the music from the film that made you buy the album in the first place. Bill Conti's music is cool and classy, blends of soulful jazz, carribean music and lounge style tunes. It also includes original recordings of "sinnerman" by Nina Simone - a masterpiece in its own right, and Sting's version of "windmills of my mind" which is an intelligent revisioning of the 1960s original. This is the sort of album one could play at a dinner party or quietly with a glass of single malt. I was so looking forward to this, based on the radio advertising that I had heard. But when it arrived I could not have been more disappointed. The songs that were heard on the radio, were basically all the best ones, the rest of the album was rubbish. I love jazz but this album is not relaxing or enjoyable and I would not recommend it.

This is even better than the first soundtrack and i love every single song. Very pleased to see Bethany's Halo on here, that girl needs to release an album of her own soon. Other highlights are songs by Nada Surf, Jacks Mannequin and Fall Out Boy, who all have guest starred in One Tree Hill. My personal favourite would be recurring guest star Tyler Hiltons cover of 'Missing you', it is truly amazing and i am now a great fan of Tyler Hilton based purely on his efforts in this series as he isn't well known in the UK.

This is my favourite film soundtrack of the last few years. Every song is brilliant, and relates well to the story and film. The music chosen for this soundtrack is a mix of pop, rock and alternative, with a couple of highly popular UK artists (Paolo Nutini & James Blunt) even making it onto the CD. My personal favourite is 'Last Train Home' by Ryan Star. I also like 'More Time' by NeedToBreathe, and 'If I Ever Leave This World Alive' by Flogging Molly. It's the perfect companion to the movie - or even the book - if you haven't yet seen the big screen adaptation.

This is a good CD for all it's worth. And it has some very good songs on it.

As a new convert to NS I was intrigued as to what I would find on here. I was pleasantly surprised at the content and there are a few tracks that have already become real favourites. For me the standout track has to be the hair-raising Al Kent:The way you've been acting. Whilst this is a brilliant track unfortunately it does suffer from being a copy from a record and there is some distortion on the left channel and some of the other tracks are similarly from records and not the original master tape. Still I would rather have them that way than not at all. All in all a bargain at £3.39 at a large supermarket chain at time of writing.

Don't think, just buy. Had this for ages listened to it thousands of times. Also it's priceless just play the first track LOUD to any unsuspecting victim.

shonberg and boubile really outdone there selves on this one. les miserable has been my favourite musical since the age of 7 (now 17) this fabulous CD has made a My collection complete...The opening song to the finale...be sure be amazed...in this you will find humour from the theanidares...pasion from the love struck cosette, marius and eponine. you will find Gut wrenching kindness and compasion from the star of the show Jean Val Jean...and what is a show with out a villan...Officer Javert is the piest de resistance!!! Listen out for On my own, Master of the house, stars, empty chairs at empty table Your musical life has not yet begun until this show has been listened to!!!!!!!
