This is a good CD with some catchy songs on it, but they can get a bit boring after a while. But it still has some catchy songs on it, so i'm giving it 5 stars.

I brought this album as the first disc has a great track list but was slightly dissapointed to find some of the songs have been remixed a bit too much and don't sound as good as the originals, like 'She's like a star'! Shame because I love that song. I first loaded this album onto my computer and listened to it and it sounds absolutely awful!! I have Dolby Surround sound on my laptop and still sounds rubbish so I left a 1 star rating but this morning I put it in my car which has a very good sound system in it and this album sounds AMAZING!! So the 1 star rating has been removed and it's got a 5 star from me. The bass they have put on this album makes the remixed songs sound better than in a club!! The programme is surely set to become as classic as Camberwick Green, Bagpuss, etc. The whole package is just perfect, lovely characters, visually beautiful and great music. The CD is brilliant - like an extended episode with all the familiar individual character songs, Derek Jacobi's lovely narration, the regular bits (intro/closing theme, the Tittifers, the dance number that they all do and choice bits from various episodes. My 18 month old son and I listen to it in the car all the time and he does the actions and loves joining in on the big dance number! And ok, I have to admit it - I have it on my iPod too ;) Absolutely charming - can't recommend it enough.

First thing i have to say is that this release is truly perfect , a work of art,in fact,that is worth every penny .And i'm not even talking about the music yet ! From the evocative photo which adorns the front cover (taken at a Stax session in the 60's) , to the colours , typography and design of the track listing on the back and the extensive hard-back booklet with tons of info and facts on all the artists and songs it is so obvious that lots of care, attention and hard work has gone into this release by everyone concerned , it's a real labour of love . Absolutely awful, this is a shoddy complilation of Xmas songs. The sound quality is terrible and the album seems to be a montage of old radio broadcasts. At times it seems that Sinatra is singing with a bucket on his head. If you want real nostalga then this album may appeal but I would advise you to stay well clear.

Ah, why do these compilations always have 3 or 4 you don't recognise, even though I spent the 70s with my ear glued to my transistor radio and Radio 1? I am hoping they plan a second compilation because there's loads missing that were real favourites at the time - wish they'd included these instead of the unknown tracks. Apart from that, sigh... I'm 14 again... (mind you, JEANS ON was in the charts when I was in the 6th form...

Bought this CD after reading the positive reviews and I'm really glad I did. Our 2-year-old girl loves it and despite playing it over and over again we haven't got fed up with it, which is praise indeed! Disagree with the reviewer who didn't like the male vocalist's voice. I think it's a pleasant change to hear an English accent with perfect diction. Great opening track which gets our daughter dancing and our feet tapping immediately!

This is a great CD for kids. I've bought a few as presents and am told they get played again and again. My kids love it.

Just got the album today, me and my son think its great we will be dancing along in the car, excellent cd, one of the best clubland albums Ive heard and got, highly recommended.
