As a professional concert pianist for the last thirty years or so, it was a great relief to find that they have released everything you need on 2 CDs. Sure enough, since I bought it I have been able to discard the 1000 or so CDs that I had collected of performers like Cortot, Horowitz, Rachmaninoff and Schnabel (and I now have enough room for a pool table!). They are simply not necessary when you have these two CDs.

How fabulous is this?! Kim in all her stages. From New Age Pop and the seminal "Kids" through the rockabilly "Love Blonde/Rage" phase and beyond to "Hangin' On" and the immaculate "You Came". The remixes are a much appreciated bonus. Kim had a Bardot-esque quality that was never fully realised but almost! No pretentions at musical credibility just pure pop = fun. The 80s were a blissful era thanks to the likes of Kim and Nena and...and... A great collection. Wallow in it and let your heart dance.

This Marty Wilde album is absolutely tremendous. His Wildcats are just superb. Marty's voice is still as lovely as I remember from all those years ago when he sang gorgeous songs like Donna, Sea of Love, Rubber Ball and Bad Boy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7ACki_WClc I love all of the songs on here and the album brings back so many memories. Go and buy it now and see what you're missing!

Pretty good selection of songs with ALL relevant hits (i don't understand why not in chronological order, though). But, when it comes to the sound on this cd, i'm not happy. Songs on this cd are NOT newly mixed and/or digitally remastered (my god, it's been a 45 years since this songs were recorded). The sound is flat and (in some songs) very hissy. I was saving when i bought this cd instead BGO's 2 albums on one cd edition (with the same songs). Wrong choice. Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice 'best of' with a very nice price published in 1995. But, it's 2006, and we all know how great the sound on such old recordings can be. Not here on this cd.

Close is one of Ms. Wilde's better albums out of print. The album features mostly upbeat catchy melodies and fine arrangements, like Hey Mr Heartache (both the album and 12" versions), You Came, and Love In The Natural Way. Hopefully, the label will see fit to release a remastered version (with additional tracks!) soon.
