As a Goldfrapp fan, they were the only reason I bought this CD. Having seen the film also it is fair to say that this CD makes beautiful background listening for a hot summer evening, a setting well established in the film. The stock tunes are well chosen such as Julie London, Edith Piaf as well as the classical pieces blending in well. The album as a whole has a very warm, romantic feel to it. But the album may only appeal to those who are not already familiar with the chosen songs.
This brings me onto the Goldfrapp score. Their music is used throughout the entirety of the film yet the total running time of original material is not even 6 minutes long. I am aware that the score used is repeated throughout the film, yet it just seems so ... Read More:
