I once saw an interview where Chad Kroeger said he asked fans what made How You Remind Me work. People said the chorus, the catchy riffs etc. So basically that's what the man cares about which disheartens me. I bought The Long Road and I really like Someday, but on every album they make 3 or 4 singles and the rest appears to be just filler, something to pad it out to called it an album. Hopefully Nickelback realise their sell out status and make music for the right reasons, as the album title misleads.

2.Death Magnetic by: Metallica

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Music : Death Magnetic
This album demonstrates many of the influences Metallica have had over the years. Every song is quite different to the one before yet all remain very appealing and enjoyable.
It seems Metallica have rediscovered the right mix of melody, aggression and funk after their last few disappointing efforts. Some of the influences I can pick up on are: Iron Maiden, John 5, Slayer, Pantera and perhaps even a little bit of Marty Friedman. Favourite song? Cyanide

In summary, a brilliant album of very different tunes but all capturing the imagination of the listener. Thoroughly recommended - 5 Star!

With well over a hundred reviews for this album, why should I add another? There is nothing more to be said other than
1) When they next get together to get another series of 'Classic Albums - The Making Of' DVD's, this should definitely be one of them, and
2) Every 'serious' rock fan's collection should have this album, it is absolutely essential!!

I wouldn't call myself a fan Of Disturbed but I have The Sickness and Ten Thousand Fists they are both amazing album (and both sound unique in its sound). This album however didn't top 'em. The album starts off really well with Indestructable, Inside The Fire & Deceiver but then goes down hill. All the songs seem to have really good heavy intros with great drumming but Dave's vocals though he is a great vocalist just sounds the same in nearly all the tracks, sometimes it sounds like he doesn't want to be there. The musicianship is awesome, in every song. This album just doesn't have enough variety in it, it soon becomes repetitive, some tracks are excellent and alot of that has to do with Dave's vocals.

This is a good album overall they could of ... Read More:

Like the coming of the rapture I fall to my knees on hearing the new album from the darkest of the dark - Cradle of Filth one of the only things not in decline thanks to the credit crunch...

With a few steps back as far as feel goes and several steps forward artistically the new album holds all the elements that has made Cradle who they are today, a full on darkest of operas pack to the horns with love, death & debauchery - everything you want and need from a Filth album and I'll be really interested to see how this latest offering translates to their live shows.

All in all an album crafted on the Devil's own sound desk and sent forth into the mortal world to turn us all to the darker side, after all they don't play metal in heaven everyone ... Read More:

Well its what happens when you say to your daughter that you are bored with your record collection. Here Dad try this she said putting Kid Rock into my hands. Well I am impressed. There are some great riffs on this album and a real mixture of rock/country styles. In some ways it is a mature sound and the country feel is not disimilar to a theme in Bon Jovi's, Lost Highway album. It kicks off with a real foot tapper in Rock and Roll Jesus, and Amen is thought provoking to say the least. I am not overly impressed with the sentiments and language in some tracks as noted in other reviews. But like a lot of British TV and music if you removed F**k and, oh my God, from the majority of shows they couldn't string many sentences together (try it with an episode of Friends). Anyway coming ... Read More:

Widely thought of now as Metallica's masterpiece............but not by me. Still, this is a terrific album, furious, ferocious and chock full of the huge riffery, solos and downright Metal-ness that, by that point in time, people expected from the 4 piece. It has a sadness too though that this was Cliff Burton's last album before his untimely death. But for me there is a lingering problem with 'Master' - some of the songs are overlong! I know that sounds silly, but 'Leper Messiah' is the worst example, an overlong jam, with not a lot musically going on, apart from an 11th hour time change that is good, but too little too late. The other is 'Orion' This might offend people because it's been the 'signature' theme to the Metallica videos where footage of Cliff is shown ('Cliff 'Em All'), ... Read More:
