See how they prance on the beach. Look at the hippy's long pink shorts. Aren't they cheeky? Good little pop number this - will never set the world alight, but a fun-filled head-nodder. Pop should be fun I think! This is as much fun as when Michael Jackson cut down a tree with his hand, or when Madonna wore coffee filters on her boobies.

THE WORST POP/PUNK/ROCK ..WHATERVER! BAND IN THE WORLD! please people grow up and listen to some AC/DC ! Most of all VERY ANNOYING ! id rather listen to an entire CD of a toilet being flushed than this garbage !

OH DEAR, OH DEAR, HAVING JUST BOUGHT THIS. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THE TRACKS WERE RE-MASTERED FROM THE ORIGINALS (WITH THE HELP OF MORRISSEY ? ?) THEN WHO WAS THE PILLOCK THAT CHOPPED THE FULL FADE OFF "THAT JOKE ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE" BUT LEFT THE FULL TIMING ON THE SLEEVE???? ANOTHER BRILLIANT OPPORTUNITY WASTED.... MORRISSEY AND WARNER BROTHERS.........HANG YOUR HEADS IN SHAME!!!

Friendly Fires has to be one of the albums of the year. It's not been a great year for fresh stuff. Just roll out dreary old Oasis with the same old same old and then FF appear. It's not anything new but it is exciting for today. You can see that they love what they do. There are not any poor songs on the album so I'll have to discuss the outstanding ones. How about "Paris"? Forward thinking, future going to be great fun stuff! "On Board" fun. Right, forget all this reviewing stuff!! They are great songs that you will want to sing and dance to. End of! Go on, buy it!

I feel that the album is actually better overall than the single - tho can only be pleased that the single brought attention. It is a considerable accolade to say that the sound reminds me of one of the best indie bands for many years - Neutral Milk Hotel.

As someone who had managed to avoid Zero Seven and Sia until now, this is a revelation. Intrigued by a stunning performance on Jools Holland's "Later", I decided to gamble on the album. A worthwhile gamble? Oh,yes! What we have here is a real singer, with passion and power combined with quirky rhythms and lovely melodies, sometimes jaunty, sometimes offbeat, but often heartbreaking. Reference points? Kate Bush for sure- but she's no imitation. her yearning, emotional vocals sometimes bring the Pretenders to mind- but then, when you listen to her version of "I go to Sleep",included here,all you hear is Sia. Listen to anything remotely resembling pop music these days and you will always find a trace of the formulaic about it. If nothing else, the 21st century has refined pop music into something of a formulaic commodity. Mind you, there are some would argue Mickey Most was doing the same thing back in 1973... Santogold's debut does contain some ambitions to meet some kind of blueprint. Upon first hearing I found it utterly generic - a record in search of a hit, if you like. The sound is clean and somewhat calculated. Then after a few plays the thing reveals something of a little more substance. This may be slightly formulaic, ticking the electro-indie pop of "LES Girls" to the bouncy thrash pop of "Say Aha" or the elctro funk of "Creator" ... Read More:

Parachutes is still my favourit album from Coldplay. This album contributed to coldplays success with great songs Shivers, Yellow, High Speed, Everythings not lost. What can I say one of the best English bands ever.

there comes an ep, this ep. i love it. i can't think of a more beautiful cd cover than this one, with a picture of legendary theatrical butoh dancer Kazuo Ohno. the tracks themselves are strange, as another reviewer put it, but i think they're more confident and complex than the ones on 'i am a bird now'. there's less tremor in the voice, maybe, but this underplaying is gorgeous, coy and intriguing. it is also a more experimental set of songs, not requiring the lush gorgeous emotional heavyweight tunes of 'hope there's someone' and 'fistful of love', instead, and from way off the park so that i for one couyldn't see it in my rearview OR my side mirrors, comes a song like 'shake that devil' which sounds like a folk song, a voodoo chant, free jazz and blues all tightly packed, ... After reading some mediocre reviews of this album I was shocked when I finally heard it and it turned out that I really enjoyed listening to it. It's clearly a step away from the first album, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. This album has much more of blues, kind of Nashville Skyline-era Bob Dylan, feel to it, and I personally think that their vocals work much better together here, whereas the first album often felt like one or other of the vocal tracks had simply been 'tagged on'. All of the tracks on this album seem to gel together very well, and although there aren't really any stand-out 'single' type tracks, I do not think that this is a bad thing at all. It might take a few listens to really get into it, but this is well worth a few hours ... Read More:
