The previous reviewer seems to be referring to another CD by Jon Kabat-Zinn. This CD set has 4 CD's, Bodyscan Meditation, Mindful Yoga, Sitting Meditation and Mindful Yoga 2. This CD forms the basis of the 8 week Mindfulness course developed by Jon Kabat Zinn and adapted by Mark Williams and others to run in the UK. The Bodyscan and the Sitting Meditation are the ones I use the most so far they form the bedrock for Mindfulness as put forward by Jon Kabat Zinn. I use them regularly and learn something about myself and Mindfulness every time I listen to the CD's. Jon Kabat-Zinn is the best teacher of Mindfulness I have found he talks total sense backed up by a scientific background and years of running courses on Mindfulness in hospitals and medical ... This is my newest acquisition from the Meditainment range and as with all previous cds, it works beautifully. The sound is crystal clear, of a very high quality and the guided meditations do relax you to a point, where I am actually nodding off. This cd really does put you to sleep. If you are one of the many, who finds it difficult to shut off or quiet your mind, and as soon as your head hits the pillow, it is like flicking on a switch as thoughts begin racing through the little grey cells and flood your mind with all kinds of 'stuff' - I think the technical term is Sleep-Onset Insomnia - then this cd could really help you. There are 2 tracks, one male and one female vocal. All you need to do is follow the instructions by focusing on the voice at all times, (which are very soothing and easy to follow voices) and you will fall to sleep naturally. This is my first yoga cd I ever bought after having lots of videos andbooks, I don't understand why Amazon don't sell it anymore cuz it seemslike a successful product. In my opinion there is very little music truly suitable for meditation. One exception I can think of is Tony Scotts Music for Zen Meditation. This CD is remarkable. I read somewhere that it was like a cross between Nawang's sensational flute playing and Arvo Part's slow meditative music. That description comes very close. It is quite simply beautiful and the ideal accompaniment to meditation or just to listen to in order to relax. There are a few other instruments alongside the flute on this recording: cello, violin, oud, chimes. You would think that would be distracting or detract from the simple flute sounds, but it isn't and it doesn't. Someone on Amazon dot com wrote about how Nawang's chanting was too quiet. my 5 year old daughter loves these short stories (2-3 mintues long)- they are beautiful meditation-type stories where the child is the princess and part of the story. I play one or two at bed-time and they really help improve the quality of her sleep and she no longer has 'bad dreams'. I would definitely reconmmend them.

I bought this yesterday as I thought it would help me learn to meditate, as in the past I have had problems visualising. The first meditation is truly wonderful as it starts off in a picture gallery, there you notice a picture of a paradise island and then you find yourself taking a relaxing swim to the island. I don't want to spoil the rest for you, but i do recomend using headphones and a sleepmask for best effect, as the title above says; I didn't want to go back.

This is the best introduction to meditation I have come across. Both men talk with authority, yet with a gentle and compassionate tone. Jon Kabat-Zinn's voice and words are wonderfully effective in directing you through the meditation process.
