Many of these songs have an excellent use of rhythm, beat and bass to create very catchy pop rock, yet retaining the simplicity of singer/songwriter style folk music. My roots are in 70s/80 rock music and yet I really love this.

If you loved the Kings first two albums, with their raw southern rock songs and spacey ballads then avoid this like the plague. The Kings have gone done a road that very few come back from, they've done a U2. What I mean is they have written an album for the sole purpose of playing the songs in large stadium venues and festivals. Just ask Coldplay or the Foo Fighters if this song writing technique works to gain credibility. I think the answer is NO. The problem is they have dropped everything that made them special and just become another sell-out rock band. The synths and Brian Eno esque guitar wailings are just awful and really dated, the songs have no direction and have lost their punch. But worst of all this album just drags ... Read More:

I first heard of Bob Marley when watching I Am Legend at the cinema, and liked what I heard so I looked him up on Amazon and liked the preview tracks, and all the 16 (at the time) 5 star ratings said it all! So I bought it and when I first played it I didn@t like it, can you believe that, but when I played it a second time and each time (I can't stop playing it now!) I get bowled over - if you are a new comer like me - give it a chance - it's brilliant! Well worth the money!

Delicate sounds; perfect for sitting in the sunshine with a glass of wine. This arrived on Friday - and I have not stopped listening to it... Kinya Dawson's lyrics are amazing. Highly recommended.

Often enough when you buy an album based on listening to one record, you tend to flick through each track nodding and shaking your head as to whether you like it. But with this album, every song captured me, every song is catchy and punchy. A brilliant album and would class as one of faves that i listen to ver and over again!! Waiting for a second album now!

Parachutes is still my favourit album from Coldplay. This album contributed to coldplays success with great songs Shivers, Yellow, High Speed, Everythings not lost. What can I say one of the best English bands ever.

Now I am of the opinion that greatest hits/Best of CD's should only be released at the end of a bands career and be a much larger album 2 discs minimum possibly more. The only acceptance of this is after a huge event such as the death of a band member, where you could release a best of in their memory and to show their contribution to the band. Now Bon Jovi's release is a mystery to me as there was no real reason to release one other than to make money as far as I am concerned. This doesn't mean the album is bad because every song contained is brilliant but it misses out some essential songs that within this kind of Bon Jovi release should not be left out, but there still is no point for its release. Not as enduring or magical as the soundtrack for Jonathan Livingston Seagull, but then again this is a completely different type of film that he was composing for. JLS was more of a spiritual journey which was perfectly complimented in the music, whilst Jazz Singer is more of a commercial movie of a "Boy Done Good" scenario. Personally, I preferred the songs on JLS, or should I say his genre of music, less anthemic, which probably isn't a word, and more beautifully crafted. However you can't argue with success, and there have been enough hits pulled off this album to back up any argument against it. I was quite slow on the uptake with KOL, I only bought this album a year ago but it remains possibly one of my favourite albums and is rarely far from my CD player. I've never once got bored of it and can sit through the entire album without skipping a single track. Happy Alone, Molly's Chambers and California Waiting are possibly the best on the album. Can't wait to see them for the first time in Glastonbury! Utter brilliance.
