I have Amazon to thank for bringing Elbow to my attention many years ago. I bought some CD or other and they did their cheeky "if you like that, you might like this ..." and recommended Elbow's debut album Asleep in the Back. I did something I have never done before or since and bought the CD without hearing a note just because I liked their name. And I loved the CD. I then bought Cast of Thousands - Grace Under Pressure is sublime - and Leaders of the Free World and really enjoyed both. Seldom Seen Kid is different though. It is by far their finest work yet and easily the best album I've heard this year. The lyrics and Guy Garvey's voice are wonderful. FAB. I'm not a firm fan of Will's & got this on a whim. BUT I must say I absolutely love this. It is a really good CD to relax and chill out too. Perfect for a soak in the bath type music, where you just wanna drift into a 'chill out zone' - this is it! Just LOVE IT. Usually I don't like all tracks but I like them all & quite a few I love.

I think with this truly amazing album MetallicA can now be forgiven for St. Anger every song on this album is truly amazing and it truly is a 5 star album and the fact that it's a heavy metal album and it stayed top of the charts in the UK for 2 weeks straight says something!!!

This is an outstanding album from a true bluesman. Major record company involvement has not dented his ability to produce searing blues with a wonderful sincerity and his usual humility. Delta style blues at its best.

My daughter bought me this for my birthday, cant stop playing it full volumn in the car. Cry everytime it gets to "slipping thru my fingers" I can really relate to this song. A must for every Abba fan and even some who aren't. All the cast did a fantastic job with all the songs, some better than others.

I first heard Duffy on a long car journey on a friend's mixtape, the track was Rockferry. My friend skipped the track in impatient disgust, which drove me mad! I'm usually into my alternative stuff but I like a bit of everything in my collection, so I have something to listen to for every mood. I love this album because it's feminine, heartfelt, sweet and singable. I'm not mad on the last three tracks but they're by no means awful, I just prefer the others. I feel I can relate to Duffy in all her strengths and weaknesses. Some have compared her unfavourably to Amy Winehouse, who I also like, but Duffy doesn't have the selfish, bitchy airs and is lovely to listen to when you have some alone-time.

If you thought this fella's debut album was good, wait until you hear this! For me this album is a big improvement on his first album. Every song on this album is excellent, apart from 'Dream On Hayley' which doesn't do anything for me. Heck 11 out of 12 good songs ain't bad! All the other songs are worthy of being released as singles.

This album should be sponsored by Irn Bru as its made in Scotland and made o' Girders. Not merely songs aboot gettin' stabbed and fightin' (although that is subject for a couple of songs) the songs also show different perspectives and hidden depths.

I'm 46. My eldest daughter is almost 22. (not that THAT matters, but I'm perhaps a little older than the average Kings of Leon "fan"?) Because of the Times is one of those rare cd's you can put on, and listen to, (all the way through) when you need a cd you can put on, and listen to, all the way through, without having to fast forward through the rubbish bits. Because there aren't any. (rubbish bits) Brilliant, as I said.
