Very nice surround transfer, at least as good as Night at the Opera

'Anotherone bites the dust' and 'Rock it' sound very vibrant, the beat is awesome. They can play at very high volumes and still sound clear and sharp.
I wish all DVDAs were that good.

There music was always good and I thought this would be brilliant but if I compare it to other discs I have it has not been remastered that well.

I love all of Steven Wilson's work, and it is hard to say which Porcupine Tree album is my favourite, but this could well be it. Or stupid dream. None of them is any less than brilliant. However, if you have a 5.1 surround system (and if not, why not? I just got the amazing phillips system for only £99 and it's truly awesome) then this version of Deadwing is the way to hear it. In stereo the tracks are incredible. In 5.1 they will blow you away.
Get this. Get a 5.1 surround system if you haven't. Oh, and get EVERYTHING by Porcupine Tree, Blackfield, Bass Communion, and all of Steven's other projects. The man has the Midas' touch.

How wonderful to read all these amazing things about Rufus, I thought I was the only one who finds it amazing that he is so little known in mainstream music; Such a relief to hear Elton John & Sting & Neil Tennant, to name but a few, raving about him on this DVD - it is giood to realise that he is recognised among giants.
One thing, a reviewer mentioned the Easter Egg on the DVD - where is it & what is it?? Thanks.

6.Surrounded [DVD AUDIO]

Music : Surrounded [DVD AUDIO]
This was a complete risk for me bought on the basis of the above reviews. Universally applauded by anyone I sit down for an audition at home - i'm responsible for at least 4 sales (commission Mr Tipper?). Think Tangerine Dream, Jarre, throw in some industrial scapes add some kitaro, shorten the tracks into managable non indulgent sizes - go forward 20 years and there you have it. Crosses all musical tastes, i've had some pretty diverse listeners being amazed!

This was the first Santana album that I bought, and I wasn't disappointed. The songs "Smooth", "Put Your Lights On" and "Maria Maria" are among the best songs I've ever heard and for some reason make me feel much happier after I hear them! But seriously, this is a great album, and a brilliant place to start out when buying a bit of the ol' Carlos magic.

Steven Wilson's fantasy joke band, complete with fictional history and bio have achieved far more than most real bands have. The retro-psych "new Pink Floyd" melodic prog stuff is as polished and epic as ever, but perhaps as a result of listening to Swedish black metallers Opeth (who Steve went on to produce) he has brought a much bigger and brutal guitar sound into the mix and some killer riffs to boot (the opener for example).

I would however like to single out Trains as the best track on the album. Train images and sounds puntuate steve's recordings (he grew up in Hemel near a track and they provided the soundtrack to his youth). This record is a perfect piece of prog and a great track in any genre. It has an acoustic/electric quiet/loud dynamic, ... Read More:

This is the hallmark recording that started the Moody Blues on their sojourn and it is a remarkable one at that. This grouping brought in John Lodge and Justin Hayward maximizing the songwriting and five-way vocal harmonizing that is so well known now. Although the symphonic arrangments may sound slightly dated, it is still a 'mood-piece' to wash away your worries and dive into your dreams. "Night In White Satin" was released in 1967 and 1971 as a single, so strong is it's appeal. The other songs display how talented and unafraid these musicians were to experiment, bringing classical pop into the rock arena.
The impact of this album is immense, setting the standard for the then used 'mellotron', virtually introduced to rock music by Mike Pinder. Justin Hayward and John Lodge's ... Read More:
