Why do people get conned into buying these dreadful collections? Once again (for the 71st time to be precise) we are subjected to an offering that includes 2 or 3 good songs whilst the rest are a mixture of banal tripe and"one hit wonders", the likes of which will leave you wondering whatever happened to decent "pop" hits. If this is the "best" of todays music then it only goes to prove that talent is no longer a requisit.

To think I bought this as a small present to accompany my mum's main birthday gift! I might as well have saved my money on the 'big' present!!! This whole 2-CD compilation has already been played at least 10 times over since I gave it to my mum 2 days ago. She has been thrilled to find some of her all time favourite 'records' by artists such as Bobby Vee, Marty Wilde, Mark Wynter and Johnny Tillotson (as well as the first record she ever bought - Elvis Presley's 'It's Now or Never') presented on this compilation. In addition to her old favourites, mum really enjoyed the new bonus track by Jason Donovan and Hank Marvin. Worth every penny!

Here it is, the NOW series' "greatest hits" if you may... I am sure it was a difficult process picking the songs for such a milestone collection. You can not please everyone and there will be dozens of songs people will feel should have been there. Perhaps a 4 or 5 CD collection would have been a better idea to cover such a long period of hits. It seems that each CD in the collection is devoted to one decade of music, which is not a bad idea. But why not have the songs in their chronological order while you're at it? To comment on the songs that are on it they are sure to bring back memories for people growing up in the 80s and the 90s. Wow. Could this album have any older tracks on it? I doubt it. These are all really old over played songs. Disapointed.

With two successful movies (and soundtracks) behind them, the original cast of High School Musical came together one last time to sing, dance, and act together. And fans of the first two will enjoy this soundtrack just as much as the others. As you'd expect, the music ranges from pop to rock to Broadway to hip hop and back again. And I guess I've gotten used to it because even the more hip hop tracks don't bother me as much this go around. Of course, all the songs have a pop based that will appeal to the core audience of pre-teens. They know where their bread is buttered. How refreshing to have a compilation album with a selection of different genre that eases the boredom that develops with most compilation albums. I listened to this album whilst driving and it both relaxed me and kept me awake with its revisiting of various familiar songs and the introduction of ones i've not come across before. A great album!

Some good tracks here by what are essentially amateur choirs - they really can entertain. I LOVE Cry Me A River by Sense of Sound!!!!
