Why do people get conned into buying these dreadful collections? Once again (for the 71st time to be precise) we are subjected to an offering that includes 2 or 3 good songs whilst the rest are a mixture of banal tripe and"one hit wonders", the likes of which will leave you wondering whatever happened to decent "pop" hits. If this is the "best" of todays music then it only goes to prove that talent is no longer a requisit.

Best Album of 2008 so far.. (November!) Buy it, enjoy it love it. The only Kings of Leon track I've really enjoyed before was Red Morning Light. This Album has changed all that and I often listen to it on the way to work. I love it. Buy Van Occupanther by Midlake at the same time for a change of pace and divine aural pleasure. Enjoy!

4.5 stars would be a more appropriate score for this album, but in good mathematical practice I have rounded up not down. If you like Snow Patrol, this is a very good album. Any of the tracks could easily have come from their last album "Eyes Open", and the rockier ones could have been from "Final Straw". Does it have more of an accoustic or mellow balance than "Eyes Open"? A track by track by analysis may lead you to that conclusion, but I am not left with that impression having it on my ipod and in the car. All of which is great, you know what you are getting. With two successful movies (and soundtracks) behind them, the original cast of High School Musical came together one last time to sing, dance, and act together. And fans of the first two will enjoy this soundtrack just as much as the others. As you'd expect, the music ranges from pop to rock to Broadway to hip hop and back again. And I guess I've gotten used to it because even the more hip hop tracks don't bother me as much this go around. Of course, all the songs have a pop based that will appeal to the core audience of pre-teens. They know where their bread is buttered. this another album of predictable girls aloud songs. the songs are ok but dont they ever experiment? id rather spend my money on the sugababes who are always trying new things it seems if youve heard one girls aloud song youve heard them all.

I have just bought this today, and having listened to it, I think it is a really good ablbum, well worth buying. If there were some more songs with a bit more oomph, such as Isobel and some of their other previous songs, I would have given this album 5 stars. However, that aside it is a great album! Go buy it!

Once again Keane has failed to come up with the goods. After a fabulous first album and a disaster with Under the Iron Sea, Perfect Symmetry slips between the two with several tracks sounding like a second rate Killers tribute band. Why didn't they stick to the distinctive sound of Hopes and Fears instead of diluting their appeal by emulating the top Indie band.
