I loved Cold Play's two first albums, I feel like I could get absorbed in them and never skip a track. I have listened to this new album about 10 times and I just don't feel the same way about this album. When listening to this album I honestly say I enjoy about 3 of the songs, the rest well I really don't.

Lets be fair, as a huge Oasis fan, I was always going to like this album. What I wasn't prepared for, however, was just how good it actually would be. Gone is some of the more recent commercialised souning material, in its place a dark, heavy, almost grungy style rock and roll, which is slowly becoming what they do best. The greatest thing about this album is that many so called 'fans' will buy it, expecting a WTSMG or a DM and will not understand its atmospheric/matured style. That satisfaction will serve to make this a masterpiece for all true Oasis fans.

It's a fantastic release. Great concert (perfect sound), some amazing extras (Gilmour's guitar pick, photographs, 24 pag. booklet etc). Imprescindible.

Being from an older generation I was not a Verve fan but aware of some of their music. I came in sideways via Music is the Power (single) being played on the radio. I thought I might buy it, my daughter said I wouldn't like Ashcroft as too miserable for me. Still, bought single enjoyed, bought album 'Keys' boy was she right. Got a copy of Urban Hymns enjoyed most, Human Conditions enjoyed every other. Bought Forth and have enjoyed it all. Find myself singing bits, 'Houses' 'Skies' I went into a pub and they were playing it, it sounded good. I gather so called 'real' Verve fans and 'Official' reviewers have been less than enthusiastic but as a music fan it is great! Buy and enjoy

Like others, I saw the man on Jools Holland. I suppose the romantic in me loved the idea that this guy had experienced the lowest of the lows but had come through it all and was here playing his 3-string geetar live on the JH show. However, I liked what I heard and his enthusiasm for the blues was infectious. Okay, it's not as polished as the great blues musicians and he's not going to outdo Robert Cray for technical ability but just listen to the stories he tells and you'll be tapping your foot along. We all love to see people do well that have faced grim adversity and Seasick Steve provides a soulful, bizarre and honest approach to his version of the blues. So, stop being so cynical and give it a blast.

What a great album! By far and away their best, before they succumbed to Coldplay-type anthems on Seldom Seen Kid. Every track a winner, but "Very best" is well titled. Enjoy! Anyone that can get Stockport Supporters Club into the lyrics of a ballad is alright by me!!

I bought this album off the back of a couple of songs I'd heard here and there. For maybe the first few listens I was thinking that actually those few songs I'd heard were the only really excellent tracks on there - the rest being ok, but nothing special. Listen on tho! Really worth it - some bits are growers, but now I am completely in love with this album!

I agree with the other reviewer this is a lovely collection and there are many wonderful songs that feature on it but Bette has done so much in her career and it could have gone a little further to truly fly the flag as THE BEST BETTE. The biggest glaring oversight for me is the DANCE MIX of Bette's massive US club hit TO DESERVE YOU. Why did they have to overlook this gem as anyone who comes across it usually is dead impressed. In fact Bette had a series of American hits on the club scene that could have easily been added to this CD which go further to show her diversity as a singer. We love you Bette but Rhino/Warner you could have done better (this is coming from a guy who compiles collections for record labels as a living).

Take three young Irish dudes into a studio. What comes out? Three young 'American' dudes with just another over-produced album. Indie band? You're kidding me!! Boyzone repackaged more like. It's just elevator music for the masses. Nothing new or even remotely interesting. The Script? I think you need to re-write it guys! You do have the potential!

Elbow have written and performed some of the best music this century (IMO). Beautiful ballads & catchy tunes, Favourite Tracks: Fugitive Motel & Grace Under Pressure
