I agree with the other reviewer this is a lovely collection and there are many wonderful songs that feature on it but Bette has done so much in her career and it could have gone a little further to truly fly the flag as THE BEST BETTE. The biggest glaring oversight for me is the DANCE MIX of Bette's massive US club hit TO DESERVE YOU. Why did they have to overlook this gem as anyone who comes across it usually is dead impressed. In fact Bette had a series of American hits on the club scene that could have easily been added to this CD which go further to show her diversity as a singer. this is the best voice I have ever heard, the only voice that could give me goosebumps. Why did he not win "Britain got Talent" is beyond me. This boy hs talent and I hope this CD will make platinum.

I'm a longtime fan of Eva Cassidy's wonderful voice and style. I think I have all her albums and those albums provide a lot of the background music for my life. Her all-too-soon death took a marvelous talent from this world. That said, though, I found this album a bit disappointing. I think that with every now-deceased beloved artist, there exists a file somewhere of recorded songs that were considered for earlier albums and put aside because they weren't quite good enough. Then, when the artist dies, there's a scramble to unearth these items and create an album from them. It doesn't always work: those songs were filed away for good reason. A New World G.E.Vasey must be tone deaf and have the artistic appreciation of a disgruntled Klingon (with piles) after being attacked by Tribbles. Will Martin is simply marvellous, another wonderful NZ product. I can't wait to see him in concert and on DVD.

I have to admit that I had concerns about buying this disc. But it has surpassed my expectations. It is not as sentimental as so many of these interpretations are, and Bryn Terfel's singing is excellent. The duets provide appropriate and beautiful diversifications. I think 'Danny Boy' may have worked better as a solo, but it is still a great duet which works well. I say this as someone who also loves 'Led Zeppelin' 'The Who' 'Beethoven' and 'Wagner'. Whether that adds anything to my opinion I know not; but this disc is worth buying if you enjoy listening to a darn good song, sung by a master, and supported by a great cast.

This Cistercian abbey has a continous history since its foundation. My only criticsm is that according to the Rule Cistercians should chant in the Ambrosian mode - very slow & ponderous, and this CD is a little too fast. One of the plus points is that Cistercians do not have choir boys so the overall effect is a deeper more inspiring chant.

All I can say is WOW! Not only did the music create a lovely bed time routine with some of the songs that I already knew and could sing to, but it totally chilled out my daughter and sent her off to sleep, and I felt relaxed too! This is a must have.

..is the only word for this album. I have never heard such a pure voice - you may have heard the songs before but you have never heard them sung like this. Eva's voice was unique - how very sad that the only video in existence of her singing is some amatuer footage taken at Blues Alley - where some of these tracks were recorded. If you can listen to "Autumn Leaves" without a lump in your throat - then you have no soul my friend.

Sacred Arias, Katherine Jenkins' 6th studio album, is not yet released (until Oct 20th 2008) so my review - and in fact all others written before that date - should be considered only as comments on its much anticipated arrival. Without hearing the music judgment can be made only on the choice of songs (and a lovely album cover photo too) and not Katherine's interpretation of them. The album marks a return to the classical market where she has found such success - her first 4 albums all enjoyed lengthy periods at number 1 in the UK Classical Charts, while her 5th (Serenade) with less than 60% of its content being classical, made it ineligible for the Classic Chart (although it did peak at number 3 in the UK Album Chart). ... I have this CD on constant repeat! The music is so varied but holds your attention every step of the way. Bocelli's voice is one you just have to fall in love with. His "Romanza" is 1 of my favourites but "Vivo Per Lei" has me hooked also. GET THIS CD!!!!!!
