I have owned this CD for more than 3 years and it is still the best Buble has ever done. I saw him sing most of the tracks at Ronnie Scotts and even now my friends accompanying me that night still talk fondly of the occasion. At this bargain price (feb 2008) you cannot afford to be without it. Everyone will ask you who is singing it. It is just wonderful music. All the songs are beautifully arranged and exceptionally well sung. I listen to it again and again without tiring of it.

This is an excellent update of the previously released "My Way: The Best pf Frank Sinatra": the record company have added a whole new CD! The single album was already terrific value for money, containing as it did Frank's best loved and most well known songs but the addition of the extra CD has made this an indispensable album for anyone wanting to add some Frank Sinatra to their CD collection - it just beats all the other competition clean out of sight!

The words "classic album" are frequently used. In some albums it's justified (The Beatles - Revolver, Michael Jackson - Thriller, Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast, Dusty Springfield - Dusty In Memphis). In some it's not (Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon, The Beatles - Sgt Pepper, Radiohead - The Bends, Westside Story Soundtrack). However, Songs For Swinging Lovers is without doubt, up there with the greats. From start to finish, it is pure perfection. You Make Me Feel So Young, I've Got You Under My Skin, To Marvelous For Words, How About You...... Sinatra is a very understated singer, he doesn't have to try and be athletic; the words just roll off his tongue and his clarity and diction are perfect. Read More:

A good Greatest hits very reasonably priced with lots of the Sisters Decca Hits although could have done with a few rarities thrown in for serious collectors of the Andrews sisters recordings. Quality of the transfers however is very good, if you dont have their greatest hits this is a good start.

I'd never heard of this band before the Lovebox Weekender. I like most types of music, so happily sat down to listen...they were playing "old skool" house music!!! I was in my element!! Absolutely excellent, which is why I am now on this site about to purchase their album!!!

This is the Standard Collection for the 20th Century Miracle Frank Sinatra,this CD was my Second Sinatra's Collection I Bought it from Virgin Megastore in Brighton,in my Opinion the most tracks on this CD more Romantic than other Collections.

This is the epitome of easy listening, as it evokes a time when everything was so less complicated. Some would say it tends towards the cheesy, but...bring it on.The songs remind me so much of when I was small and the radio was always on, and everyone sang along. so different from sitting glued to the TV today. This is a brilliant collection at a remarkable price.Some of the titles I was unfamiliar with, but all in all, a most welcome and enjoyable addition to my collection.

The great thing about Miles Davis was that his trumpet playing was so transcendent. He's probably the only jazz player whose albums frequently appear in top 100 rock lists. I fail to see how anyone could not take the lilting sentiments of 'Porgy & Bess' to heart no matter what your musical tastes. The 'Buzzard Song' opens the album with a grooving bass line by Paul Chambers, cleverly imitated by a tuba that follows suit (how many albums have you heard with a grooving tuba?). Then the lyrical note changes of 'Bess, You Is My Woman', before one of the highlights of the album, 'Gone'. This is something of a departure from Gershwin's opera itself, but the backing players relish the opportunity for some pure jazz playing, topped off with Jones's ramshakle ... Read More:

In contrast to the previous reviewer on this page, unfortunately I have to say how disappointed I was with this collection. Before I launch into my reasons, firstly I must just say that I am writing this review as a general music fan with my own observations regarding this recording, rather than pretending to be an authority on the legend that is Glenn Miller. My suspicions with this recording were raised within the opening few bars of the first track 'In The Mood', which is obviously in stereo. Since the cream of Miller's recordings were made around 1940 (some 15 years before stereo recordings were being introduced) I have to start here by questioning the authenticity of at least some of the recordings on this CD. And if track 1 doesn't make you suspicious, skip forward ... Read More:

A great band and the well balanced mono sound is superb, as you would expect of Basie at his prime. Better than the original discs, my wife even likes this big band sound! (as does the parrot!) Much of it has unfamiliar titles but very familiar tunes, the Basie we hear all the time on the radio of course! A class act but then all the bands that survived to the late 50's and beyond had that in common (compare with Kenton at the Tropicana, the Herman 1963 Philips disc etc). Buy it!
