All in all this was decent to listen to. I loved Avril Lavigne's cover of The Scientist (although some bits were out of tune) and plenty more good listening from this double album. good choice opening with the foos!

recommended!

I'm married but when we went to see Pink live in Nottingham me and my female friend both walked out and said she could "take" us down the other path if you get my drift (& not married herself).
She is an amazing show woman, she's sexy, daring, has an exquisite voice!!! Need I go on!!
I've seen the Try This and I'm Not Dead tours live and she just keeps getting better!!!
I've only just bought this and the Try This dvd (Jan 08) but I can't wait to watch them!!!! Enjoy!!

I was lucky enough to see The Highwaymen live in when they came to the UK, probably not long after this show was recorded and the show I saw was very similar to the one they did on the DVD. I have always been a huge fan of Willie Nelson and also like the others, but when you see them together you cannot believe you have 4 huge country stars on the same stage, singing together!. The DVD brought back many memories of one of the best live shows I have seen - and I have been to loads. The rapport between the guys is obvious, and regardless of what Willie says about 'all of us having ego's the size of a bus' what cmes over is a fantasic group of country singers doing what they do best. If you like any one of them but havent yet discovered the Highwaymen, ... Read More:

5.Live (Collector's Edition) by: AC/DC

This is a bloody disappointing album. I bought this thinking it was going to capture the full on raw power of AC/DC but it totally fails.
The biggest problem is that unlike the majority of live albums that are edited to flow like a proper gig, this mess sees each track fade in and out so that the energy and excitement one expects never materialises. It simply fails to gel at all and just becomes totally boring. Why was this done? It is for radio idiot DJ's who are incapable of cueing up a track? Oh yes, and Brian Johnson can't sing either. A truly horrible experience. Stick to "If You Want Blood...".

I am no stranger to reviewing material by John Mayer and I know that sometimes I can come over as evangelical in my praise, but how else can you describe such an immense talent?
The SRV analogies are bound to resonate through other reviews, and I'm sure the talented Mr M would not baulk at the comparison. However, when a 'white man plays the blues', these analogies are all too easy to use and this takes away from the originality of John Mayer's skills as a songwriter. 'Stop This Train' is the most powerful song with the most simple delivery that I have heard, and is a song which, in its live format, I often find I'm too sensitive to listen to. I am fortunate to have seen him live on two occasions, but have only seen him perform this song on the first. I almost ... Read More:

I've been a Cohen fan as far back as I can remember. I had a feeling I wouldn't be disappointed by this album, since Cohen's live backup singers are legendary, and I was right. These are without a doubt the most beautiful and emotional versions of the songs ever recorded, and I find it impossible to listen to the album as mere background music; as soon as the music starts playing, I can't help but close my eyes and just let the music envelop me completely.

The songs "Bird on a Wire" and "Sisters of Mercy" are worthy of special mention. The tempo is lower, the saxophone sexier and the vocals deeper and more intense than ever before, and the result defies description. I would have gladly paid in blood to be at the show where they were recorded.

I heartily ... Read More:

This album was a revelation when I first heard it a couple of years after Cobain's death. For the most part I hadn't connected with Nirvana's grungier sound. The Unplugged format provides a sparse and paired back sound, releasing the raw power and passion of Cobain's voice. Favorite's are Something In the Way, Dumb, On a Plain and most especially the cover of the Meat Puppets Plateau. As others have mentioned the closing cover of Leadbelly's Where Did You Sleep Last Night is remarkable in its intensity.

Unlike many other live albums the post production has left all the chat and banter between Cobain and the band in the mix; this allows the listener to feel part of a very special concert. In conclusion you don't have to be a big fan of Nirvana's louder, grungier ... Read More:

I love this. I think it's really great to be able to see The Black Parade in all it's epic glory, then get up close and personal in Hoboken. I preffered the NJ gig because there was more interaction with the audience, but even still the Mexico City blew me away with the explosions, etc.
A must have for all of the MCRmy. End of.

I have been a guitarist for 47 years, I have never understood why Clapton is so highly rated, believe me his limitations are laughable. If you want blue-based Rock n Roll, Ry Cooder produces better albums, at least they have heart and guts.
Clapton unplugged is so lame, and the sidesmen so timid, trying never to show up the boss, the album is rehearsed to death. I remember B.B. King on one of his visits saying he was off to see a real guitarist at Ronnie Scott - Barney Kessel. I think when Joe Public decides that some-one is God that person ends up believing it, and if they harbour any doubt then they can always to resort to drugs and liquor.
