So many US bands deliver not-too-bad yet easily forgettable emo-albums these days. So I didn't expect all that much from Paramore after buying this on the strength of their excellent 'Misery business'. How wrong I was.

Opener 'For a Pessimist' sets the tone for the entire album: a blistering rocker with a catchy chorus. And the pace never lets off from there. Crushcrushcrush and That's What You Get are two more standouts, but the band sounds very accomplished in mid-tempo songs like When it Rains and We Are Broken as well. Singer Hayley Williams is first class - the way she holds her longer notes could teach many of her collegues a thing or two (are you payin' attention, Mariah Carey??).

All of Riot!'s eleven excellent ... Read More:

I hadn't heard anything by them until ITV used the track 'Welcome to the Black Parade' during the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix. I didn't know who it was by but was instantly hooked. A few mouse clicks later and I'd found out the artist and had ordered the album.

I received it today and couldn't wait to play it. Absolutely fantastic! The only problem (!) is that I'm now going to have to buy the rest of the albums. It's such a long time since I've heard music that immediately grabs my attention.

Worth every penny. Highly recommended if you like 'proper' music.

Yes its a bit more of a mainstream approach but i still love it, Its less experimental than The sufferer and the witness, but personally i have all of their albums on shuffle with some protest the hero and sometimes i find it hard to think what album they are off just listening to it, Best album by them personally.

I've followed FFAF since I picked up Casually Dressed in my local music shop several years ago having never heard any of their material before. I wasn't disappointed. Like the other reviewer I have always felt their strength has been in crafting big strong melodic rock songs peppered with some excellent 'metal' musicianship. Memory and Humanity doesn't deviate from this foundation and provides another quality, highly listenable album.

The absence of the screamed vocals, (being only present on a few tracks) will probaby deter the Casually Dressed fundamentalists, but to be honest I prefer the more natural vocals it works better with the style of music. Screaming is all well and good in the context of angry political rantings and hardcore death metal, ... Read More:

This is one the first albums that I can listen to completetly and say I love each and every song. I had to buy a second copy as I played my original too much that I became worn. This album was the perfect length for my drive from home to university each day. Can't wait for the next album to be released next month.

I don't usually review anything, but love this so much I had to...

I bought this album for 2 reasons. 1) because I'd heard a lot of talk about Fall Out Boy and heard none of their music, and I wanted to see what the fuss was about and 2) the main reason, the CD was only £2.99 at the time. So I bought it, kind of expecting to be half interested. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a catchy, original and totally fun album. To be honest, I took one look at the song titles and thought, what the heck? Right now I'm not even sure how half of them relate to the tunes in question - all I know is that I love this album, and I can't stop listening to it.

Stand out tracks are definitely, in order of stand-out-ness, Sugar, We're Goin' Down, A Little Less Sixteen Candles, Champagne for my Real Friends, 7 Minutes in Heaven, and Nobody Puts Baby in ... Read More:

Wow. Live in the LBC will blow you away. This is possibly the greatest live performance I have seen by a rock band. Beautifully directed with breathtaking camera angles and lighting. And I haven't even got round to the music yet.

Avenged play close to perfect. This would pass in the studio. Synysters solos are incredibly played and Shadows' voice is more powerful than ever.

Worth the full money for Live in the LBC.

But diamonds in the rough?
Filled with B-Sides and covers.
There are reasons that these songs did not make the studio albums.

Songs like Crossroads and Demons are average and may even be considered good coming from a smaller rock band. BUT THIS IS AVENGED and we have come to expect better.

This is even better than the first soundtrack and i love every single song. Very pleased to see Bethany's Halo on here, that girl needs to release an album of her own soon. Other highlights are songs by Nada Surf, Jacks Mannequin and Fall Out Boy, who all have guest starred in One Tree Hill. My personal favourite would be recurring guest star Tyler Hiltons cover of 'Missing you', it is truly amazing and i am now a great fan of Tyler Hilton based purely on his efforts in this series as he isn't well known in the UK.

... says the opening track of their new album! Well, they may be the same band, but the sound is very different to the amazing 'A fever you can't sweat out'.

Pretty Odd has a more mainstream, polished feel to it - some may say that they've sold out, and have lost that uniqueness that made them so fresh and exciting just a couple of years ago, but I would say that although different, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

It took me a few listens before it grew on me (but then so did the first album) but after the 3rd or 4th time, it really started to get me, and now it's a constant companion on the journey to work - its amazing!

Just don't write them off being giving it a chance, or you may just live to regret it...
