This DVD version of the famous Red Rocks concert has been a long time coming and it does not disappoint. It is great to have the whole concert restored and the missing tracks are so good one wonders why they were ever omitted fom the original VHS version. The most impressive aspect of this release is the improved sound. The bass in particular is awesome, and I can hear phases from Adam Clayton that I have never been able to hear before. Edge's guitar is equally impressive and the whole sound picture is perfetly balanced.

A previous reviewer mentions how this is the last time we see U2 in their original early form before the introduction of sequencers. The Unforgettable Fire album saw the band delve into ambiant, keyboard supported ... Read More:

This album is stunning, I am a huge Enigma fan, have all the albums. This album features a long awaited return to the familiar Enigma sound of Cretu. The last album was hugely disappointing with the exeption of the track Hello and Welcome but Seven Stars just blows the mind. Every minute of the album is delicious. It brings tears to the eyes. Any Enigma fan recently disappointed by the previous album, don't hesitate to buy this you won't be disapointed. Thankyou Enigma

Tried really hard to get tickets for the Glasgow gigs - to no avail - so I really appreciated being able to buy this DVD.
Something 'magical' happens when these four guys get together. With their special mix of personal chemistry and obvious musical talents- they are born entertainers and obviously work hard at keeping Take That on the top of their game. They are always striving to improve and update and this shows a great level of respect for their fans.
The music, the visual effects and the dance numbers are simply brilliant and watching the DVD - you truly feel that everyone involved has given the tour 100%
Loved the concert- loved the extras - love take that
Thanks for getting back together guys - here's to the next album and ... Read More:

This is a truly excellent album. THe acoustic sets are superb and show John Mayer off as the brilliant guitarist that he is. The trio sets and in deed some of the full band songs sound very much like Jimmie Vaughan. It is excellent, the songs are his best, from all previous album, but live. The small twiddly bits between/ leading into songs are very good and original. I would definitely recommend this any day to anyone who like rock, blues or jazz.(I mostly listen to metal by Mayer is the Jazz man that I like, he is a shinning example for all those in his genre) *****. Buy it.

I find it very hard to criticise Steve Winwood. He is a quality musician with a quality voice. He started out a teenage prodigy who took the charts by storm, then spent much of the 70's doing pretentious but quality material typical of the era with various line ups. In the 80's he went commercial and had massive success, particularly in the States. Then he tried to carry this theme into the 90's and somehow it didn't work any more. His last album 'About Time' was largely based on latin rhythms with an intimate sounding combo and was a classy piece of work. This new effort seems to fall somewhere in between that album and his 70's work. Whilst it lacks a certain focus and dynamism, it is still a quality piece of work. For me, the bluesy minimalistic opener 'I'm Not ... Read More:

I am a long time Jackson Browne fan and have seen him live several times both with the band and solo. The previous solo album was an excellent effort and well worth five stars. Regrettably, this is not up to the standard of Vol.1 by any means.

I don't know why, perhaps some of the tracks were just not suited to a solo performance, perhaps these weren't the best performances but this album just doesn't gel. In particular, Somebody's Baby just didn't hit the spot at all and nor even did the usually excellent All Good Things. I was particularly disappointed by the rendition of "In the shape of a heart" which was just not as good as I remember it from the acoustic tour a couple of years ago.

On balance, I would have to say that this album is strictly ... Read More:

It really doesn't matter to me whether this album is only 1% live; the fact is that Visconti finally managed to capture the energy of Thin Lizzy on tape. This is by far the best Lizzy album, and knocks every studio effort into a cocked hat. Much as I like albums like "Johnny The Fox", if you play this one afterwards, you will know what I mean - there are no better versions of these songs anywhere else. Yes, the original vinyl double LP was lovingly packaged with great photos and a "side" dedicated to each member of the band, and the main shame is that nobody has seen fit to remaster Live And Dangerous and give it the packaging it truly deserves (in the same way that Skynyrd's "One From The Road" has). That said, I don't have any real problems with the sound - this is a ... Read More:

I'm a little surprised by some of the negative reviews of tis soundtrack to the movie album.Sure its a lot different to Neil's excellent Heart Of Gold movie, but to say its irrelevant is not too fair.Neils none too happy about the current situation he finds his adopted country in,so he expresses it in the best way he knows through his music. This CD recording wise is not as crisp a sound as I would have liked but CSN & Y are still in top form on a tour that would be controversial but many agreed with it.Sharing ones feelings has always come through music, and these guys have never avoided putting them into song. This is a challenging,at times hard album but surely within the film context it will be easier to follow. For all that, sound apart is an album all fans of the band and its individual ... Like albums such as the Manic Street Preacher's "The Holy Bible" and Joy Division's "Closer", this album is impossible to hear without the ghost of a creator looming large - unlike albums by The Doors or Jimi Hendrix, which lack the seeming suicide-note nature of those works. "Unplugged" more than any other album I know has an elegiac, funeral atmosphere, one heightened by the inclusion of lilies and candles in the small stage and the nervousness of band and audience, as though aware that what they were seeing was so fragile it might break. (Compare the atmosphere with that of Rod Stewart's Unplugged, which is like a knees-up gig in a cosy pub by the resident band).

There is, for the first time with Nirvana, a remarkable delicacy. While some of their songs had been suggestive of ... Read More:
